Wow. Usually its the other way around:
a person will yell at you for trying to push your Christianity down their throats - this is the first time I've ever heard the exact opposite; This might be worthy of the guinness book of world records, ya know?
I think the little **** must have been being sarcastic. Yeah, it was rude, but do what Christ said to do: wipe the dust off the old shoes and keep going - just forget it - if you
allow it to get to you, then you are only going to put a damper on a blessing you could be for someone else, but instead you are sitting there aggravated; Satan would love nothing better, so get that armor of
Ephesians 6 on and in place, and don't allow this kind of thing to slow you down.
The little jerk will definitely get whats coming to him. God doesn't like people messing with his Children - that you can take to the bank. Hang in there...

I agree. As an Atheist, I wouldn't even have had a problem if you had said I was going to hell. You should be allowed to believe whatever you want just as I should. There is no excuse someone to IM you just to put you down. Unfortunately there are inconsiderate people of all sorts haunting this board. That's one of the reasons I don't allow people to contact me through Y!A.
Don't let it get to you. Contemplate the words of your lord: "father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Either that or "suffer the little children" (I know the verse goes on but it seems so much more appropriate to end it there).

I agree! leading by example is the best way about doing it. I believe that if they have heard the message and been given the choice and they totally ignore the offer, them yes they will go to hell, but that is not comanding them. It is their choice. (Just thought i'd throw that in there!)
Anyway, that would be rude if someone did that. Christian are soposed to be somewhat understanding! Sometime it takes time to get someone to become a christian or begin to believe. Something about leading by example is a verse in the bible anyway! (and if i had time it find out which on!) But i think you are right to think and believe that way.

I think you should consider the source and don't let it bother you. A lot of teenagers feel they have all the answers, and don't realize they still have a lot of maturing and learning to do. Just lead by example as Jesus did and wants us to. God doesn't force people to believe so why should we try to do that?
God Bless.

I think as a Christian you should forgive her. She is young and most likely on a path to self-discovery. Continue to be a positive example for Christianity and dispel the "fire and brimstone" perpetutation that zealouts and non-believers try to classify us as. Christianity starts in your heart, bleeds to your soul and through our faith is the only way for others to absorb it. Give her the respect our faith teaches us to and pray that she comes to terms with what she is feeling. Lead by example, be a good person and you cannot go wrong.

You are doing the right thing by nothing pushing your beliefs on others. It's not our job to do the convincing nor the convicting. That is the job of the Holy Spirit.

I think that its a bit extreme to say that you're condemning them to Hell. You can't force anyone to believe anything, but you can lead by example.

Why let it upset you? It's not teaching them a lesson, and all it's doing is ruining your day. I ask my daughter all the time who being upset at someone hurts, them or her. It hurts her, not them, so why is she wasting energy being mad over something she can't change? You can't change what was IM'd, it happened, get past it. It's not teaching the IM'er a lesson, and it's only making you feel bad.
