This is not about me, just wondering what people have to say.

Not if I wanted to live. How do you know what God finds offensive?

I think you should definitely go ahead and get it, if it means a lot to you. It seems like a creative and unique idea for a tattoo! Of course, there will always be people who are offended, no matter what tattoo you get. Some will be offended because you have a tattoo on the first place. Bottom line, you can't please everyone, nor should you be trying to. If the "sentiment" of the tattoo is not a bad one, then there's no reason why you shouldn't get it! Good luck :)

My sister has a tattoo. My brother-in-law has several. They're both Christians.

I can't think of anything I'd want to put on my body that I would want to be that permanent, but I'm not offended by them. I think the only way it's offensive to God is if it's part of an idolatrous practice - which is what it signified in the OT.

And, no, I would _never_ walk up to someone in public and say anything like that. That's rude for one thing, and profoundly unhelpful for another.

I don't think so, as I only knows what offends me, my family, and a few other humans.
I have no idea what a tattoo could be like that offends GOD.
Wouldn't the tattoo just be a tool, used by GOD, to see how humans get along with each other? Would violence occur? or laughter?

No, I wouldn't. Besides, if someone already has a tattoo...what good am I doing in telling them they did wrong? It's over and done w/ by that point, and irreversible.

Now, if I had the opportunity of speaking w/ someone who wanted a tattoo...I'd try to discourage them from doing so b/c:
1) it's ugly
2) they'll regret it when they are old and wrinkly
3) (this one only pertains to Christians) their bodies are the temple of the Lord...you wouldn't put graffiti all over a church...same principle.

God bless.

If this person was a Christian I knew I would tell them their tattoos are offensive. But if it is the person I dont know, and who is not a Christian then there is no point telling them their tattoos are offensive.

Besides, they are offensive not because they are visible in public but because they are there.

How can you tell a guy that has Jesus tattooed on his arm that God finds that offensive!

uh, no. First of all, I don't quite see why tattooing itself would be offensive to God. Second, if someone DOES have an offensive (racist, sexist, hateful, whatever) tattoo, well, I might be an optimist, but I'm not stupid!

No, not unless their tattoos were offensive to God!
