Yeah, you will go to prison. And because you have such an obvious motive, there isnt a chance in hell that you are going to get away with it.
I do not doubt that you're anger is real, and that the scumbag that murdered your cousin may have it coming. But you spending the rest of your life in an 8 ft x 10 ft cell, eating rotten food wont bring your cousin back.
Get some counseling for the anger. There are other people that have gone through what you are and have come out the other side.

If you could prove it was a crime of passion you might get off in some states. The problem is that you have to prove it was a heat of the moment type event. Now that you have asked this question on Yahoo Answers you have clearly demonstrated premeditation not heat of the moment.
One of the first things they will do when they arrest you is get a search warrant for the house and sieze your computer. They will see the question you asked and use it against you.

You will be charged with murder.
If you suspect someone has killed your cousin and take the law into your own hands by killing the person, you will have committed a crime.
The only legal option you have, it is to go to the police if they are not a suspect and ask them to investigate this person you suspect of killing your cousin.
If you do follow through, plan for a long stay in prison.

Laws blahs. Laws are just words on paper. Follow your heart. But ask first, what did my cousin do to cause this guy to kill him/her? If they had any culpability in their own death then let it go. If they were a truly innocent victim then you know what you gotta do and if you can live with it or not.

Murder is murder.
Now, if you were to interrupt the crime in the act you could use deadly force to protect the life of another.
But, after the fact... you can not later go kill the suspect. You will then be charged with premeditated murder.

It would be murder in the first degree, aka CAPITOL MURDER.
That is because you are planning it and will commit murder in cold blood, i.e. after long thought and without being in fear for your life and safety.
If you are lucky, you will get the death penalty and get the needle in a few years, if you don't drag out appeals.
If you are unlucky, you will get 25 to Life in prison.
If you value your life, and love your family, DON'T DO IT!!!

It's murder and you will go to jail, especially since you are premeditating it. Now, if you know who it is and just happen to run into him on the street and go berserk......
