then divorced the women and married each other.

"For example, two big success stories of the ex-gay movement, Michael Bussee and Gary Cooper, were two of the original co-founders of Exodus International. (In the interest of total honesty, let me clarify this: Exodus says that Gary Cooper was not actually a co-founder, although he was around at the beginning of the ministry and has referred to himself as a co-founder. Michael Bussee was a co-founder.) For a long time, they toured the country, speaking at churches and telling people their stories of how they had "come out of homosexuality" and were now happily married with children. This continued until they left Exodus, divorced their wives, and married each other. "

Google them...quite an interesting story.

People may try hard to deny their God-given sexual orientation...but, they will not have peace until they accept themselves the way God made them...which is gay.

Were you born straight? If so, could you "become gay"?

A lot of neurosis among religious people could be caused by their refusal to accept life 'on life's terms'.

Consequently, they get stuck in one of life's formative moments, when instead of coping and growing, they get 'frozen.'

Then they spend the rest of their lives making everyone else miserable, and trying to force their own stupid solutions upon the world.

They are in so much pain, but we cannot really help them, they must follow their own path. We can only wish them peace and relief from their tortured existence.

Ted Haggard’s claim has absolutely no credibility. All he has (perhaps) done, is go back in the closet, in his own mind, by resuming denial of his sexuality -- He has been trained all his life to hate himself as he was created, by people (Evangelicals) who refuse to understand sexuality as it really is.

Christian fundamentalists work as hard as they can to ensure that gay people are demoralized and persecuted enough to fit their stereotypes

Today's online edition of The Advocate has an article about how Southern Baptists are now changing their beliefs. It's hard to believe, but they obviously can no longer deny that being gay is genetic. Here is the story.

First off, you're way off. The bible doesn't need to say the word homosexual, it says,: "when a man lies with another man as they would with a woman". Regardless, I'm not a fundie, and I frankly don't care. I have my own sins to worry about.

ROTFLMAO (if it weren't such a tragedy). Of course these men could never change their sexuality. We've been telling them that for decades..Either 'Out' or 'Instinct' magazine had an article a few months back of a gay man who infiltrated one of their 'camps'--the expose was to be expected: These men weren't really 'cured' of their homosexuality at all. People can always lie to themselves about their sexuality...but it is such a waste of time and energy if they do.

I tried being a lesbian...but it didn't work, I just wasn't all that into it....so I have to stick to being straight. However, I did try it...if I really wanted to be gay, I couldn't be so it's not a choice...never was.

Amen!

I get so tired of hearing people say being gay is a choice.

I couldn't be a lesbian if my life depended on it. Especially not when there are men like Jeffrey Dean Morgan around.

Interesting I did not know that.

And no, I wasn't born straight; I'm bisexual. I suppose the opposite of that would be asexual...I couldn't imagine being that.

Totally agree. People do not choose their sexual orientation.
