The Christians are going to argue that allowing himself to be sacrificed paid for the collected (and future) sins of humanity.
Which just goes to show that Christians don't have the first clue what "sacrifice" actually means....
Consider:
I take $100 out of my wallet and give it to a homeless person so he can buy food.
Donald Trump does the same thing.
Who has made the greater sacrifice?
Obviously, mine was the greater sacrifice -- I'm going to miss that $100 a lot more than Trump ever will.
Now, let's examine the exchange made by Jesus:
He gives up -- what, 10, maybe 25 years tops (considering the typical lifespan in those days), as a carpenter in a Bronze Age backwater....
And in return, he gets to RULE, in PARADISE, forEVER!!!!
Where's the sacrifice? Where's the personal loss and giving up of something valuable that defines what sacrifice is?!?!
The story of the crucifixion only makes sense as a noble gesture if THIS is the only life we get; but Jesus is so quick to go along with his/his Father's plan precisely because he KNOWS, with ABSOLUTE certainty, that he's going to get right back up again in three days....And it's not really a sarcifice if you take it back (i.e.; resurrect yourself)....

To understand this, you first need to understand how the Jewish people originally made atonement for their sins. God had said ages ago that the periodic sacrifice of small animals, like lambs, could be placed on the altar, and this would be their atonement. So they were used to sacrificing pure lambs (lambs free from any defect). They had been told that a Messiah would come for them and He would be their savior. They just didn't know that the Messiah wasn't going to free them politically or geographically; He was going to free them spiritually. The whole point of His existence was to be the perfect sacrifice, and anyone, not just Jews, could have a part in His willing sacrifice. God chose this way because the Jews were already accustomed to it.

First he was not created but is a part of the whole of God that created the world. When God created the world he knew man would sin. God is total righteousness and could not agree with sin. The wages of sin is death. God had a plan for his creation from the beginning. God planned to pay the penalty of sin for man to bring his creation to his righteousness and eternal life.

If someone told me you were dead and I saw you walking around three days later I'd tend to believe the reports of your death were slightly exaggerated. So Jesus didn't die for anyone's sins Rabbi Yashua Ha Nazar (AKA Jesus the Christ) was married to Merriam from Magdala (Mary Magdalene) at the time of the crucifixion. She was carrying his daughter in her womb at the time. After the "resurrection" they moved to Egypt where Sarah was born and together they started the Gnostic Church based on what he had learned in Tibet from Lama Sabachthani and in Britain from the druid sect called "the Eloi". When "Jesus" decided to take his message to the people beyond the pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) Mary and Sarah got off the boat in Gaul (France) And when Sarah grew up she married the local king and started the Merovingian dynasty of the early kings of France. The Old French expression for the Holy Grail, San gréal, actually is a play on Sang réal, which literally means "royal blood" in Old French. Jesus had a secret dynastic marriage with Mary and that she was a daughter of the tribe of Benjamin, whose ancestral heritage was the land surrounding the Holy City of David, the city Jerusalem. A dynastic marriage between Jesus and a royal daughter of the Benjamites would have been perceived as a source of healing to the people of Israel during their time of misery as an occupied nation. Mary is buried beneath the glass pyramid at the Lourve in Paris and Sarah is buried in Roslyn chapel near Edinburgh Scotland.
As to why; Because Imposed order escalates disorder killing the leader of any movement rather that suppressing it, radicalizes it and strengthens it. Something most Christians (at least the rich ones) forgot in the second millennium (1000 AD - 2000 AD) Giving rise to the Protestant Reformation, American and French Revolutions, Abolitionism, Little big Horn, The labor movement, Communism, Fascism, terrorism and anti-Apartheid.

Sin separates us from God.
Before Jesus, the Jews sacrificed lambs and goats for the forgiveness of sins.
This kept reminding God of sin, because it had to be done over and over again.
Without blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
God chose a Sacrifice that would end sin once and for all,
His Son Jesus Christ.
That's why Jesus is called the Lamb of God. He is the Ultimate Sacrifice.
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior His blood covers our sin.
When God looks at us, He sees the blood of Jesus.
We are reconciled with God because of Jesus.
Yes, He did live to die, but God raised Him from the dead so that we may believe and have Eternal Life.

People, who have believed in God, should seriously think about this question.
There is no justification to punish an innocent person on behalf of others crime.
God is Merciful, Compassionate, Generous, Forgiving and Master of the Day of Judgment. It also contradicts the equal right for judgement as well as The Judgement Day.
Then, why do some people want to believe that God did so, because people don’t want to take responsibility of their own sins. Now what is sin? In brief, Sin is some actions we do which God did not approve. Lot of the people does not want to take any responsibility for their own action. They want to do things as per their desire (including incest, rape, killing etc.) They do not want to follow human law, God’s law or any law. So this theory or believe give them some kind of relief that they are saved for the judgment day. Some people are using this statement as their licence to kill and anything they desire as they were saved in advance by Jesus.
“Just be a Christian and you will be saved forever”, this theory worked on lot of people who was illiterate and ignorant for thousands of years. May be the theory became popular as it has less or almost nil responsibility for their own actions. But now the people who are capable of reasonable thinking will not or can not accept this theory whole heartedly. I hope you have your answer.
Answer from ‘Spoken 4’ inspired me to write above answer. As he / she wrote: “When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior His blood covers our sin”.

Jesus died because of sinful people. God did not want Him to die on the cross. To say that would be to say that sin controlled Jesus coming to humankind. Jesus' whole life was redemptive. His whole life showed us how to live and love. He was not created by God. Jesus is God. God became one like us in all things except sin, through Jesus.

sin means missing the mark, not being on the money, being in error. Humanity has always lived in sin, that is, the majority of the actions and thoughts of people are not holy, not in harmony with God. That Christ was crucified is a symbol of how someone who was pure could be sentenced to death, someone who WAS in harmony with God. So he is an example for humanity of how their sinful or erroneous ways would treat a holy person, a divine person.

He suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. He did this because he loved us, and because God loves us, and he wants us to be able to live with Him again. He died so that all would be fulfilled and so he could be resurrected. To live with God, you must be a resurrected being, and even out Lord was not above that law.
God cannot tolerate sin, and since we all sin, we could never live with him in our sinful state, so there had to be an Atonement made. Through this Atonement, we can repent and be forgiven for our sins because Jesus took suffered those sins for us. But if we do not repent, then we must suffer for them ourselves. If we don't repent, then Christ suffered in vain, because we do not appreciate his sacrifice for us. Because he was the only perfect person to ever walk the Earth, he was the only one who could do this.

I don't either. I asked a couple days ago why couldn't God just kill some bugs and spiders to satisfy his wrath? Why are sins such as premarital sex so bad to him he feels the need to have his son crucified? God is all powerful, so he should be able to forgive everything with no sacrifice at all.
