I know that The Lord has someone amazing planned for me. However, I know He still has a lot to show me before my future husband is brought into my life. In turn I know that God is preparing that man's heart as well. It does get frustrating waiting sometimes, but I just have to continue to have faith that it's not time yet.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
~Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)~

Okay, I'm not a believer, but when the bible was written the world as known to believers practiced arranged marriages. A girl or woman was pretty much bought from the father and was considered the property of her husband. Today, this practice endures in the areas of the world where the bible originated, but we don't live in those societies so our standards and methods of finding a mate are completely different.

From a biblical standpoint, yes, god binds you together in marriage, but this is not to be confused with god bringing two people together. God does not bring your mate to you, he allows you the free will to choose your mate. When you pray, don't pray for a husband or wife, pray that you make the best decision when you choose the one you will marry.

In the mean time, enjoy meeting new people and discovering what you do and don't like in a potential mate. Some of the things that you think you have to have right now may turn out to be a lot less important than you think. Remember, when you do get married, you are making a commitment to a person before god, so make sure that you can honor that commitment by choosing someone that you can live with for a very long time. If you see red flags, consider that god warning you that this may not be the best decision. Good luck to you, and I wish you the best.

Edit: Gorgeous, your future Mr. Right is out there, he just hasn't asked you to marry him yet. Give it time, he'll be here before you know it, just try not to shut him down by holding on too much to the old guy.

Get the book and the movie called "The Secret" It will help you with the correct method for attracting what you want into your life! You may think that this does not fit in what whatever it is that you believe in...but sometimes an open mind is what is really called for, and despite what some people might try to tell you, this secret does not go against God's will....because this is how the universe works, and God created the universe to work this way! *sm*

Yes, I have no doubt in my mind that my husband is my soulmate and the man that God intended for me to be with.

However, I had to go through alot of things before I met him. God had to work on ME first.

Just stay strong. Remember, all things happen in God's time!

I've never quite been able to reconcile it with free will. How can God put me in the spot where I'll meet him when I am supposed to make choices about where I'll go? And do I have a choice about falling in love?

I thought god sent me the love of my life. I loved him with every fiber of my being. I loved him so much.

And he loved me. But just not enough to make it work.

So I don't know. Would god send me that kind of heart ache? Or was it the wrong person or the wrong time or was it just not meant to be....

i just don't know.

Yes, once many many years ago. I lost him due to my own stupidity. There will never be another for me.

If it is meant to be, you will find that person....

Just don't be in a rush, where you settle for someone that is not "the one".
