I live in west Phoenix and need someone trustworthy and reasonable. I need the bodice taken in and the front hemmed.

take it to a local dry-cleaners. most of them can do the work. But check out local fabric stores too for business cards of people who do it on the side. I did my alterations by myself cuz I just couldnt picture paying someone $250 to take in a fw inches and hem the bottom (no detailing on bottom,.... easy hemming)......
so when I was all done with it, I was in a store and found a business card for a lady who would have done it really cheap. Was I mad that I spent a month doing it myself. lol

I would suggest my mother but you live in Arizona. That's not to say she woudldn't hop a plane, she loves the Southwest! Anyways, your best bet is to stick with a small business seamstress in your area. Check your local phone book or ask around town. Like the first person said, ask at your local dry cleaner, they may know someone. Places like David's ask outrageous prices for minor alterations and I hate seeing people get ripped off!

Here's a Yahoo search I ran, it looks a bit helpful:

Good luck!!!

I had the seamstress from the bridal shop where I bought my gown - and she was amazing, I guess because they have all the experience! Had to get some tricky alterations done - made bigger instead of smaller, which is harder to do, and you couldn't even tell where she put the inserts.
