During my trip at MEPS, Our instructors had us do our branches battle cry on a few different occasions. Being USAF, he told me to 'go back to my Army roots' and say HOOAH.
I understand how and why that is, but i have been having this debate with my gf that the USAF is changing their battle cry to 'AAIRP' meaning air power, or something along those lines.
Any clue to the relevance of any of this?

I don't think i'd like the Air Force of today.

I cannot imagine not being able to change into my blue jeans and go to the airmens club the first night I got to tech school and having a beer.

The new restrictions they place on airmen nowadays, would have drove me nuts.

The idea of a AF battle cry is silly.

How about " More Beer, More Beer "

I've been in 10 years and I haven't heard this new "Battle Cry" yet, and hope i never do. Once your out of training, the Air Force does not use either one, people will look at you like your retarded. Definitely not important enough to debate about.

Battle cry? Like for when you fix bayonets and charge up the hill? Yeah, great, whatever. More stupidity designed to enhance self-esteem, no doubt.

Marines and Army are warriors and Airmen are technicians. Suck it up and live with it. We don't personally come to grips with the enemy, we send our officers out to do it. Everybody has his part to play and that's ours.

At basic and tech school, we said "Hua"... just a shorter "Hoooah". It has meaning... Heard, Understood, Accepted.

When I was in AFROTC, we said ARRRRP, which to me sounded like a bunch of frogs in the room. I liked that one better, though, I have to admit!

Oh dear lord please no. Hooah is already silly enough, but all i can picture in my head is a bunch of airman running around screaming "aairp" sounding like a bunch of chihuahuas yipping!

Please, no.
