Sorry the biggest minority is NYC is hispanics. The people who came here in the 1920s and 30s who were catholic learned English right away, worked hard and got an education.. The hispanics refuse to learn english and pass down welfare and living in projects and having tons of babies to each generation--thats the difference..
I can tell you because of them the relationship between Whites and Blacks has improved in NYC because we both feel American compared to these immigrants.

New York City just happens to be America's melting pot.
Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Look, clearly you are ignorant of historical facts.
About 160 years ago, New Yorkers (most of them being Protestants) were freaking out with the Irish immigrants and their Catholic beliefs.

But you know what?
People worked out their difference and NYC became stronger for it.

During the early 1900's, immigrants from Italy and eastern Europe begin arriving in waves.
And once again, New Yorkers got bonkers over the idea that foreigners were invading.

And guess what?
Jazz music and great food were one of the imports.

YOU might have been born in the United States, but unless you can directly trace your ancestors back to the Native Americans, please stop this crap about immigrants...because WE'RE ALL related to immigrants.

I know how you feel. I live in Alexandria, VA and it is too many Mexicans. I just can't believe that it is only 20 million Mexicans here. I believe it is way more than expected. I'm sorry but I am NOT a fan of them. My experience has been very terrible with them. I had tried to be friendly to some of them, but they are just as racist. And I just love when the act like they belong in America. Damn...is anybody left in Mexico.

Hispanics are not everywhere in NYC. It's so diverse and ethnicities blend here in the Big Apple, so in my opinion there is no way there are too many.

NYC is notoriously cosmopolitan. Walk a few blocks, you'll hear another language.
