It is "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride". It's pretty self-evident.

Of course, a much more interesting "wish" quote is from Simon and Garfunkel:

Wish I were an english muffin. I could make the most out of a toaster. I'd ease myself down....comin' up brown.

Figure that one out and you've really done something.
