You're referring to Rev. Ted Haggard, I assume. He lied his way through the initial investigations until the truth was so evident that he could lie no more, and then he finally admitted that all of the accusations against him were correct.
Then, he was fired from his church, and his letter of admission about his activities was read from the pulpit.
Then, he went into an ex-gay counselling session and he emerged three weeks later to declare that he is 100% heterosexual. Obviously, he was not cured of his tendency for lying because, regardless of what he says about being cured, it is only a matter of time before he has to admit, again, that he is gay and that he should stop living a lie.
Apparently, the hustler (Mike Jones) has plans to write a book about this.

God appoints our leaders. I said this publicly prior to the election, and it's no surprise. The book of Daniel says that God takes a fool, and makes him a leader, a verse I rather like this election cycle. Nevertheless, God does appoint our leaders. Read the books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles and 2 Chronicles. They are the stories of the Kings of Israel, and how they were allowed to come to power by God, how they were stupid, cruel, indecisive, ungodly screwups, who made life worse for their people because they rejected God and enjoyed their their own authority. God appoints all leaders. What they do is their choice, but they are all selected by God. That's only logical. If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, then nothing occurs of which God is not aware and does not have the power to stop. He must, at a minimum, tacitly allow our leaders to reach their positions of leadership then. I think he's much more involved than that.

I went on his web site, but it seems to not have been updated with the latest news for some reason. LOL!

It seems that Pastor Ted may have been 'economical with the truth' over the extent of his sinful activities.
It also looks like his flock is not willing to 'love the sinner'. Which is not surprising, as Pastor Ted never preached that.
Wouldn't it be awful if his ministry went bankrupt and had to close.

The former senior pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs is believed to be in Tucson, Ariz., to undergo spiritual and emotional counseling.
Haggard is believed to be staying at the Christ Comfort Ministries International facility as part of a "restoration plan." The facility is "accountable to International Ministerial Association (and the) American Association of Christian Counselors," according to a Web site listing for it.
