My ex-boyfriend hit me Saturday night. In order to talk to him the next day, he made me sign a piece of paper saying that he never physically abused me. It was the next day after it happened, but my friends say that i should still report it. Does it count? Should i file?

I guess i should have added that I wanted to talk to him to get my stuff out of his house, not so that we could share my love of being abused. I'd appreciate answers, not your lame opinons.

Thank you to those who have responded. He is out of my life and wil will be going to the JAG as soon as my roommate picks me up.

NO... it is not in anyway legal.

You can not enter into any type of contract (what this is) under duress (which you are).

Call the police and make a domestic violence battery report NOW..

And get away from this loser!

It is in no way okay for a man to hit his girlfriend/ wife and vice versa. You need to get away from him and get help. He will always be the same, there is no changing or rewiring for something like this. It may have seemed like it would only happen once, but it will happen again and then at some point he will rely on this to control you............GET AWAY NOW!!!!

it would never stand up in court-put yourself in the judges shoes why should a young lady who has never been abused sign a peice of paper saying she hasn't???-any court in the land would see this was done under duress-throw the bastard into the dustbin of your life and forget him.

Why would you want to talk to him? Sounds like you have nothing in common unless you enjoy getting slapped around.
