Whether your Christian, Jewish, or Muslim--- what do you think happens to you right after death--- that is during the period right after you die and before judgement day?

We do not die. We escape the physical body and the Energy that is us returns to its Source. To me, Judgment Day is the day you review your life on Earth - what you have accomplished and what you still would like to achieve.

Well, according to Jewish sources, at first the soul hangs around its former body. A newly dead person will be confused and distraught (unsuprisingly), and the former body is something familiar that it wants to go back to. (Since the soul is watching the body so intently, Jewish law demands that we treat corpses with the utmost respect). After the body is buried and starts to decay, the soul gives up trying to return.
Then the deceased is brought to judgement before the Heavenly Court. Their good and bad deeds, as well as the punishments and rewards they've already received in this world, are weighed. Then they either get sent to Gehinnom (purgatory) or go directly to Gan Eden (heaven). Most people have to spend some time in Gehinnom, but it's not permenant- only up to twelve months.

after death all souls go back to God where they came from...book of Luke describes how the rich man had died and could see lazarus and abraham close to God's throne and the waters of life but he was divided by the "gulf" and wanted to go back and warn his family not to screw up. the rich man wasn't "saved" but not he was not evil either....

the book of enoch goes further and says there 4 holding places for the souls of the dead..
1) Murder victims going back Abel who cry out for justice and await trial.
2) murderers and other various scum who are awaiting trial.
3) Saved people. 1 Peter jesus "set the captives free" all the way back to the first men and women who upon his 3 days in hell, preached and many of them crossed over that gulf to paradise.
4) unsaved, but not scum.

The chronology is after the 7th trump, all those souls will be brought into the millennium/day of the Lord/1000 years to be taught by the saved who are "pillars in the temple of the lord"...murderers too? don't think so depending on their trial maybe? dunno...satan is put in prison for that time and there is no interference from him...

after that 1000 years...scum bag is loosed again for a short time...and whoever follows him again? lake of fire baby....then the Great White throne judgment for all souls and everybody else enters the eternity...GOd doesn't want scum in the eternity....and as the fallen were told "You were NOT Shown everything"
so when satan and the fallen rebelled thinking they were so awesome and powerful etc....they were in for a rude awakening since they didn't know everything. This is why God gave satan and others freewill...would his children love him and be worthy of entering the eternity? many aren't and won't make it sadly...

I think you re-play your life in fast forward. You leave your body and observe it before you "pass over". I believe there are "escorts" to help you through the valley of the shadow of death so you won't be frightened on your way. I believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there will be people waiting for you. I believe that the judgement will take place before you enter the gates of heaven while your family waits for you.

...there is the return to the homeland city.

The walls around the city are made of jasper, and the city itself of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls are decorated with every kind of precious stone.

There are gates, each made of a single pearl. The great street of the city is also of pure gold, like transparent glass.

There is no temple in the city, and it does not need a sun or a moon to shine on it because there is no night and many nations walk in the light...and there is much splender and glory and honor...and on no day are its gates ever shut...

Looking at what Jesus said about the rich man and Lazarus, we go to a holding place. And since Jesus told one thief that they would be in Paradise, then we go somewhere. Most believe Paradise has been replaced by heaven. So Basically we go to Heaven or Hell. In the end, death and Hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

God said to Adam and Eve: "you must not eat from the tree...for when you eat of it, you will surely die"Genesis2:16,17 But the serpent(satan) said:"I assure you, you will NOT die"Genesis3:1-5
Thus the first lie on earth had to do with death. Immortality of the soul is still preached today in thousands of pulpits.
Romans 6:23"The wages of sin is death"
Here is what the Bible teaches about immortality:
*Only God is immortal-1Timothy 6:16
*Human beings in our current condition are mortal-Job4:17
*We seek immortality-Romans 2:7
*We'll receive immortality when Jesus returns-1Thess.4:16,17
Ecclesiastes 12:7"The dust returns to the ground, and the spirit returns to God" Here's where people make the mistake. They don't understand what the "SPIRIT" is. Job tells us in Job 27:3"All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils"So the spirit is equal to His breath of life. God put into us His Life-Giving-Spirit. This is what returns to God when we die.
DUST + SPIRIT = LIVING SOUL
Example: Lazarus John 11:11,14"Our friend has fallen asleep. Lazarus is dead. But I am going there to wake him up" Lazarus had been dead for 4 days! It makes no sense if Lazarus was already enjoying heaven and Jesus brought him back to earth, to suffer once more.
Mary came to Jesus on resurrection morning, John 20:17 Jesus revealed himself to Mary and said, "do not hold on to me, for I have not returned to the father"
People ask about the thief on the cross"today you will be with me in paradise" Jesus did not return to His father on that day.
Overall, since the beginning of time, satan wants God's children to believe that The Lord is unfair and unjust. Imagine a God that would allow his children to burn for thousands of years. What type of God would that be?
"The time will come when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment" John 5:28-29
GOD IS GOOD, GOD IS MERCIFUL, GOD IS LOVE!

There is legitimate debate among those of The True Christian Faith on this... some say the soul sleeps until The Rapture... others say The soul goes directly to heaven... I will just wait to find out... but I think it most likely that the soul sleeps.

The Bible tells us that after the moment of death, a person is taken to Heaven or Hell based on whether he or she had received Christ as his or her Savior. For believers, after death is to be "away from the body and at home with the Lord" ..For unbelievers, after death means everlasting punishment in Hell
