A Christian who witnesses for the one true God whose only name is Jehovah (Psalm 83:18 KJV)
"“You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and have faith in me, and that you may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none."----Isaiah 43:10

Never heard of it...
However, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and we follow the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Everything written therein we believe He provided for our benefit, so we do our best to live our lives in harmony with it.
To the "cult" accusers: The 1st Watchtower was printed in 1879, so let's use that as a starting point. Do you not find it odd that our "cult" has managed to survive 128 years? Even more peculiar is the fact that we've done this (in the financial sense) by accepting only the donations that members are willing to give privately, without any type of pressure or influence.
What was that Gamaliel said in Acts? Something about this scheme being overthrown eventually if it was of men, but not to be tampered with just in case it was of God???
Hmm.

we as Jehovah Witnesses are not a cult. I am tired of people saying that we are a cult. a cult worships man. we worship Jehovah God and follow his son's command at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. a cult live together and work together. we live with our own families and live in our own homes, we may be your next door neighbor. we work on jobs and you may talk to a Jehovah Witness in walmart or winn dixie or another store that you shop. we are mothers, fathers and children just like anyone else. we do not follow the watchtower, that is a magazine that we place at door and read on sunday. we follow the bible only. if you want to learn what Jehovah Witnesses are all about visit a kingdom hall or the website at www.watchtower.org

Immagine that you are living at the time Jesus was on earth,
and immagine also that we have all the technology of today;
like computers, internet etc... and you want to have info.. about Jesus.
Jesus has his site on the internet and is inviting you to go and chek Him out.
Also Judas Iscariot, has a site on the internet and he is inviting you to chek it out.
We know who these two are and what they stands for.
Which site do you think is going to help you to know about Jesus?
The only officially recognized site for Jehovah's Witnesses is
http://www.watchtower.org/

Jehovah said I will take out of the nations a people for my name.
God's name is Jehovah. He said they will be witnesses of me to the most distant parts of the earth and they have done that.
Jehovah's Witnesses are one who talk about and teach about Jehovah to everyone they meet.

Isn't it amazing how many think we are sooo evil? I think they believe we dress up wierd and strangle chickens. Of course they can't handle the concept of anything other than the King James Version. They actually think Moses and Noah, Jesus and the apostles spoke in "thee" and "thy" instead of Hebrew. LOL I even read many here say we don't believe in Jesus. ITs called CHRISTians for a reason. Followers of Jesus Christ.
WE follow the example and teachings of Jesus as he did all things for the honor of his Father, Jehovah. We follow his orders at Matt. 24:14 to tell everyone "good news of God's Kingdom" in all the earth as they did from house to house. We are not about to CONVERT everyone. It is a numbers game. It only says we have to let everyone know what will happen. We look for those with the right heart condition who desire to live in a peaceful paradise under God's rulership.
Far from preaching doom and gloom, we have a happy message of coming out from bondage of this old system of corrupt leaders and clergy more conserned with their bank accounts and power than their people.
We are different because we avoid teaching the thoughts of men as doctrines. We have gone to the Bible to search if a belief is in there. If it is not, we throw it out. When we first started in the late 1800s, we had several beliefs held over from false religion. When we saw those things were not supported by the Bible, we changed. Like smoking for example. At a time when doctors perscribed smoking for nerves, we saw the Bible's view of keeping our bodies clean for service to Jehovah as meaning, in part, no tobacco. Long before any surgeon general's report of cancer, we stopped.
Another way we are different is money. There will never be a collection plate or bag on a pole passed at any of our meetings. We never charge for any of our ministry. We offer FREE home Bible studies to people who want to understand accurately what the Bible says. How different we are from the rest of those claiming to be Christians! Jesus said, "You recieved free, give free." (Matt. 10:8)
Our main focus is on teaching. We teach what the Bible really says. We make sure when someone studies with us, they will be able to turn in their own Bibles and show anyone what the Bible says.
We try to live by Bible principles in our daily lives, not just lip service on Sundays. Regardless of their faith, employers know we can be trusted with their property and they rest easy. We have very low rates of disease from STDs and other things because we follow Bible principles. Are we perfect? No, not at all but, we try.
