a lot of people got hostile with me when i said going to war was crazy and i should be glad that people fought for me to be free blah blah blah. but for all these "patriotic" people out here, would you fight for this country if you had the chance? do you love this country so much that you will go to iraq and risk your life? it seems like a lot of people misunderstood me. i'm not talking about previous wars but the war now in iraq. Do you think what we're doing is right?

No, I do not agree with this war. My husband is in the army and has already been there. I would hate to think I might lose him to this unfounded war. If I actually felt that we needed to be in Iraq, it wouldn't bother me that he would be fighting there, but it's my opinion that we have no reason to be in Iraq. Afghanistan, perhaps, but not iraq.

I served for 20 years and fought in Just Cause and Desert Storm and never thought twice about serving and risking my life. Anyone who goes to war worrying about there life usually are the first ones killed. And if the Army would take me back I would serve in Iraq, yes I would. Now what about you?

Understand this you dumb A.S.S, If my country asked, I would go just like ALL of our soldiers would do. They have my Name, retired Rank and Address. All I would need is a phone call and a day to get issued gear and a plane ticket and you can bet your *** I would go. I did my 20 years well before 9/11 and I damned well earned the choice to pick what I want to do for the rest of my days, so they may not call, but if they DID I would GO. And BLAH BLAH BLAH to all those UN-Patriotic people out there who can find any excuse in the book to NOT serve their country, it's just TOO damn bad that you can't find the same excuses to stop living in the USA without giving SOMETHING back!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! If I had the chance I would go right now to help fight for this country!!! And yes, we (as in Republicans and especially Bush) are doing this right. If the DEMIN-ocrates get what they want and we pull out then the ists have won and everything we have been fighting for in the first place
will fall. And that means that most Iraq's will probably die because the ists in their on country will be able to all allot easier with out us their.

I have...

For all you "Just Causers"...was Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, and Kosovo "Just Causes" or was it because Clinton was President?

Chi: So you think the Zimmerman Telegram (WWI) was worth fighting over...A there is a strong possibility the Government let Pearl Harbor happen (It was a military not a civilian target)...have fun in the cold of Canada...I don't think there will be another pansy like Jimmy Carter to pardon you...

ANd if you don't know what the Zimmerman Telegram is...I will take a page from the Liberal Hero Rosie...Google it...then tell me if it was worth it...

I would fight for this country. In fact, after college, I applied for the secret service and the Navy. Sadly, due to bad vision which is not correctable, and a neck and back injury which I sustained in a car accident, they would not accept me. However, my nephew has served 2 tours in Iraq, and other members of my family have served with pride. My daughter is only 6, but says that she wants to join the Navy like her uncle and grandfather, and we would be proud if she did.

What we do instead is support and work with a non-profit called TAPS - Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors to support the families and friends of those killed in active duty service to our nation.

i don't think it's right, however, i have 2 kids who decided that they should join the army, one of whom is in iraq now, and the other who will probably be there before the end of the year... i don't support this war, however, i DO support the troops. and i think that if every republican, who voted for bush, and who claim to support him and his cronys, would get off their .... laurels.... and join and/or have their kids join, the enlistment rates would approach the projected need, shortfalls would be eliminated, and life for all teh soldiers would improve.

i can't join, i'm over the age limit, but, two of my three kids are in the army, and i would go, in a minute, to keep my kids safe. so, i don't know about fighting for this country, but i'd fight for my family....

Yes I am willing to fight for my country. Yes I am willing to risk my life for my fellow country men. I understand what you are going through with everyone going hostile on you. Everyone I know is telling me I am doing it to prove something or to get out the house or I won't be able to do it or something stupid like that. But I am not...I am doing it to serve my country. Besides if my family and friends really loved me they will support me and stand behind me...just like I would do for them. I know some of them are behind me but the just don't want me to give up my career and I am not. I think what we are doing is right. Hey I am behind you!!! I don't think you are crazy. I would think you are crazy if you didn't joined. Thank you to all who have and is currently serving. May God bless you and your love ones!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER TROOPS!!!!

I do not agree with the current political decisions that have us at war, but would nonetheless serve my country if called. Mute point for me, though, since I already did.

Yes and I have fought for this country, no questions asked as I believed and still believe it was and is my duty to serve my country. My parents were immigrants from Communist eastern Europe and taught us the definition of freedom and oppression and I never forgot my lessons.

I did so -- for 28 years in the Army. Now I'm retired -- couldn't get into the Army to resume the fight if I wanted to..
