"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel 12:1-2)

Michael the Archangel, just as the 1st line states.

Compare these words @ Daniel 12:2 with Jesus words about how he will resurrect the dead @ John 5:28,29.

There's a multitude of scriptures that, when carefully examined and compared, show that the Word/Word of God, Michael, and Jesus Christ are all names of the same person, the Son of God.

Michael ("Who is Like God")is the designation for him as the Archangel, of chief of angels. He commands Jehovah's holy army of angels and champion's his Father's sovereignty.
The Word is his title as God's Spokesman and Master Worker.
Jesus Christ/Yeshua Messiah (Jehovah is Salvation, the Anointed One)is the name he was given as a human on earth; it shows that he is the one chosen by God to enable our salvation.

Just what is says ....12:1 “At that time Michael,

the great prince who watches over your people,1

will arise.2

There will be a time of distress

unlike any other from the nation’s beginning3

up to that time.

But at that time your own people,

all those whose names are4 found written in the book,

will escape.

12:2 Many of those who sleep

in the dusty ground will awake –

some to everlasting life,

and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.5

12:3 But the wise will shine

like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.

And those bringing many to righteousness

will be like the stars forever and ever.

12:4 “But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about,6 and knowledge will increase.”

12:5 I, Daniel, watched as two others stood there, one on each side of the river.7 12:6 One said to the man clothed in linen who was above the waters of the river, “When will the end of these wondrous events occur?” 12:7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen who was over the waters of the river as he raised both his right and left hands to the sky8 and made an oath by the one who lives forever: “It is for a time, times, and half a time. Then, when the power of the one who shatters9 the holy people has been exhausted, all these things will be finished.”

12:8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “Sir,10 what will happen after these things?” 12:9 He said, “Go, Daniel. For these matters are closed and sealed until the time of the end. 12:10 Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand. 12:11 From the time that the daily sacrifice is removed and the abomination that causes desolation is set in place,11 there are 1,290 days. 12:12 Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days. 12:13 But you should go your way12 until the end.13 You will rest and then at the end of the days you will arise to receive14 what you have been allotted.”15

Dear Lover,

The "great prince" is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) Jesus Christ. Here is the Scripture: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

In Daniel 8:25 we read, "And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand." The Prince of princes is the King of kings and Lord of lords--Jesus Christ. When Christ returns, all those that have been saved and have died will be resurrected with their new glorified bodies to everlasting life.

This event is also spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2. The "man of sin" and "son of perdition" is satan, ie., the anti-christ. Satan's great desire was to "be like the Most High." Satan ruled the world ever since he got Adam to disobey God. But satan could not rule in the churches because God the Holy Spirit was there. The members of the churches began to fall away from the law of God (the Bible), and rewrite the law of God according to their understanding... Just as Israel fell away from God so the churches have done the same and the Lord has left the churches. NO ONE can be saved in the local churches today because satan is now ruling there (Revelation 18:4). We are almost at the end of time. Google my sources.

Most people don't accept that Michael was the only begotten son of God. But Michael the Archangel was Jesus' name before he came to earth to be born of Mary.
He will stand up for God's people when he brings us through the Great Tribulation and Armageddon. He will abyss Satan and his demons for 1000 years.
During this 1000 years he will bring mankind to perfection and then raise the dead. When the dead are raised they will get a blessing of life or a judgement of death.

I think this is referring to Michael. He is considered the prince of Israel because he was specifically chosen to watchover and guard Israel. There's kind of a hierarchy among the angelic hosts. So I believe that the "great prince" to which he is referring is Michael who is Israel's prince and guardian (Dan. 11:1, 12:1, Jude 9, and Rev. 12:7-12.)

"Michael" is identified for us here. He is the only angel given the title of archangel (see Jude 1:9). His name means "who is like unto God?" He is the one who is going to cast Satan out of heaven (see Rev. 12:7-9). He is the one who protects the nation Israel and stands in her behalf, as Daniel makes clear here. His strategy is outlined by John in Revelation 12:14-16.

Michael is an ARCHANGEL. Angels have a heiarchy structure and are assigned to various duties much like the way our military command structure is designed.

Also sometimes referred to as the Angel of the Lord.
