dehydration could be a possibility

Dehydration could definitely be a cause but also a lack of magnesium and potassium. If you work out a lot, therefore sweating a lot, you lose a ton of magnesium. Try getting some supplements from GNC for example, they offer Mg tabs without any nasty additives like gluten, soy or lactose.

You may need more potassium than the bananas are providing. You might want to take a potassium supplement. Also, Gatorade has more potassium, so you might want to try that, too.

I doubt that its the banana but this shouldn't be your late night snack.I would say maybe you should drink a little bit of warm lemon juice and stretch your legs right before bed rub it down with warm green alcohol and I promise the cramping will go away...good luck and email if it works...later...smiles

bananas? nah.. not at all... to me it usually happens when i've used my legs far too much... it's the result of muscle fatigue... when this does happen to you... you are advised not to move... just take some deep breaths and eventually the nasty cramps will ebb away...=))

actually, it is a lack of Calcium in your muscles. I would suggest getting a bottle of brand name "NOW" Calcium Citrate....and take one twice a day for a week, and then only when or if you feel it hurt. In the mean time, try eating lots of leafy greens....which is the best natural source of calcium citrate, and taste good too!!
