You shouldn't have any side effects unless you go hyper (meaning are on too much medication) A small amount of people have more hairloss with Synthroid, so I guess that could be considered a side effect, though notice I said "a small amount".

I started out on Levoxyl (another t4 med) the only thing I noticed was a strong sensation of hunger when i started. Luckily that sensation only lasted a week. I just wanted to menton it just in case it happens to you. I am now on Armour, as Levoxyl never helped my symptoms.

Below is a good thyoid forum, so you can learn more about hypothyroidism. One bit of advice......always test your thyroid in the morning. Most doctors adjust the medication by TSH. TSH changes throughout the day, so you want to always test at its highest point and always around the same time for each testing so that you get on the correct dosage.

I've been taking it for more years than I can remember. I have never noticed any side effects. It will increase you metabolism, make you feel like its not cold all the time, your appetite will increase a little, but all in all, you will feel like a "normal" person

Depends...
Has your thyroid been completely removed or is the Synthroid just a supplement?
Removal is best, you'll never have to change your doseage unless they change manufactures.
I recommend studying "Hypo-thyroidism" and "Hyper-thyroidism".
Drop me a line, I've has YEARS of experience.

You might get cold more easily, and you might start gaining weight from it, but I've never had any other problems. I'm on .1 mg, so it's a small dose--there might be more problems as the dose is increased.
