Does anyone dislike these races as much as I do? I mean its okay if that is your thing.. they have races for that, why should they be in NASCAR? Just curious.

Good question. I am not a big fan of road courses at all. I know they test the driver's abilities and they offer a different style of racing, but I just don't like them. If I look at the schedule and it says Watkins Glen or Sonoma, I just let out a sigh and my shoulders drop. Even though they do prove who can handle a car the best, they just simply aren't interesting to me for some reason. Road course races are the only races in the season that I don't mind missing. They don't even feel like they count towards points to me. They really just don't feel like NASCAR.

I think it comes from each drivers background ~ a lot of the Cup drivers were born & raised on oval tracks pretty much. Then there's the group who road motorcycles, raced go carts or drove open wheeled cars. A road course is much more demanding than the other tracks. Kinda like not enough hands or feet when needed. I guess I really don't have an answer, just speculation. :)

I love road course racing it gives the chance for other people to get at the top. Besides you only have to put up with for 2 races.

My Friend and his Nephew where killed by a small group that where road racing (illegally). They raced into the downtown area at speeds around 90+ in a 25mph zone, they probally never seen them coming. If you have a fast car, Yes there should be designated places Legally to race, but not on the streets.
There are places in allot of cities where small time people can race their cars.

I also dislike road course races. I will make sure I have plans for the days those races are on. They just don't interest me at all.

I like them, they should be in NASCAR, im a huge fan but i feel like they should have these races, i like superspeedway races and briostol, and even road course races its all fun and espically after racing in circles over and over again they should be able to change it up for road course fans too

Road courses are a good diversion from left turns all day. It breaks it up and the all around talent comes through.
Go to a race and check it out. You may change your mind.

Wow I can't believe you feel that way about the road races. They are just as exciting maybe more exciting than the races at the tracks. I think that its a great change from watching regular racing.

I will admit even though my boy has won a lot of them I don't care for them that much either.I would rather see 2 more short tracks. But they do test drivers different skills and they get to turn right 2 times a year !

Because if all the track's were oval's, Wouldn't it get kind of BORING??? Throw some spice in there 2 times a year, Sears point (Infineon) & Watkins Glen.....If your driver & his team can master an oval, let us see how good he really is & master the road course's.........Jeff Gordon 9X Road Course Champ, 6 of them were in a row.........24 = The RoadMaster
