Stay calm and call 911!!!!

If you are deadly allergic to something then you should be caring an Epipen at all times. Your friends and family should know how to administer this medication just in case the person having the reaction can not do it themselves.

Benadryl is also the recommended choice of antihistamines. If you also have asthma, inhalers should be kept with you at all times.

Also, your local paramedics should be advised, as not all ambulances have epinephrine in their kits. You should also be wearing a Medical Alert bracelet

Very good question. There is a thing called an epi-pen.
http://www.epipen.com/howtouse.aspx it delivers imediate help the the person who is having a reaction. Personally I never go on a trip without mine. Also with spices and ingredients you can have skin testing done by a doctor to see what you're allergic to.

Some people with allergies carry a syringe ready to give themselves a shot if they are allergic to bees. The best thing
is to get them medical help as quickly as possible. Testing
anything on your own would take knowledge that most of us don't have. The Dr would be sure to do it all over in any case.

An epi pen is best, benadryl (or any antihistamine) will help, as far as what goes into the food, you just have to read the labels and look for ingredients, if you are in doubt just don't eat it.

if they are 'deathly' allergic to the substance in question then they should have an anti-allergenic in the house for such situations as the one you have described
