Think about this example: If a man has an arm removed and then procreates, his offspring would not all be one armed because of his amputation. The removal of his arm does not change his genetic make-up.

The same applies to the removal of Adam's rib.

So Christians, do you agree?

Yes. It's common sense.

The genetic make-up does not change, therefore both men and women would have the same number of ribs. My question is, since God just created Adam from thin air, why did he need Adam's rib to create Eve?

Of course I agree, seeing as the number of ribs a person has doesn't code on the X or Y chromosome. However the number of ribs modern humans have is irrelevant whether you're arguing for or against Christianity.

Adam must have had one extra rib! Heh, just kidding. I may be a God-believer, a Christian, but that doesn't mean I don't argue with scientific fact. My faith doesn't require me to believe that Adam and Eve undeniably existed. I believe their story was allegorical, symbolizing the love with which God invested his time in ultimately creating us (through the long process of evolution), and demonstrating the responsibility which we all carry, the gift of free will.

Well yeah I agree but I have never heard anyone argue that since men and women have the same amount of ribs Christianity can't be true. Do people actually say that?

HAHAHAHA
Ok, do you really think that the main problem is that Adam and Eve's offspring should have come with just one rib because Adam had one removed???
Since you amazingly went scientific on us, please share with us how you can take a rib and make an entire human being with it uh? Scientifically please coz you didn't even use God in your first explanation so go ahead... you're obviously on a roll

Well let me think here. Hmmm, my brain is actually working today.

Tell me, was this man's arm used to CREATE another human being?

And was Adam's rib SUPPOSEDLY used to CREATE Eve?

You tell me - - Are those situations even remotely similar?

I guess reporting someone is preferable to actually thinking.

DDDUHHHHH... nice try, skipper, but no cigar... genetic information is conveyed (surprise!!!), in our genes, so amputation will not have any effect on your offspring... nice try, sparky, but you NEED to try harder next time... see how wonderful this system is, if you are stupid it does not mean your children will be... praise god !!!
BTW, don't you get tired of baiting Christians, do Jews, Hindus or Buddhists next time, you will like it !!!

Isn't it strange that if I give a kidney to someone in terrible need that all my children still are born with two? Shouldn''t it be that they would be just like me? What if I lost a finger in an accident, why are my children born with all ten.. Funny they don't reflect my body structure... Jim
