even if its only a few steps? I have seen these rather obese individuals avoid two steps to walk down the ramp reserved for the handicapped! It's utterly proposterous and I demand an explanation!

Look at it this way, instead of taking the stairs, by taking the ramp they have to walk that much farther than they would have by taking the stairs, and at an incline. So, unbeknownst to them, they are actually exercising a bit more than they would be by picking up their knees.

First of all, what in heck gives you the right to demand anything? Who appointed you to judge other people?

The ramps are not "reserved" for the handicapped, they are there to make the location more accessible to all!

Perhaps these folks have trouble with their knees? Stairs may be painful for them. It may be that they have a balance problem and feel more secure on the ramp than the stairs. It may be that they just want to tick off little twits who get upset about things that are none of their business!!

Hahaha it should be pretty obvious why they do that.
Theres a reason their fat.

I am not an asshole, im fully aware that some people have glandular problems, or diseases, or things that run in the family.

But what I hate is the fat people, who are just generally lazy, and don't want to do any damn work. Then they have the nerve to complain about their heart problems, and how they cant do ****. They do something about it, and fix it. Tough love is the best medicine.

If you wanna be fit, eat healthy, go play sports, go workout. Even simple things like stairs help.

It probably hurts their knees to climb steps or there may be something else wrong with them. Please keep in mind that no normal, healthy, happy person becomes extremely fat. Lazy people tend to just be flabby and a bit overweight. The truly massive have other issues. It's sad because they just can't seem to be able to stop eating and they can't get active because they're carrying too much weight - I blame their parents first for enabling them to become so obese - you don't see active, healthy people with obese kids. I choose to feel sorry for the exceedingly large people instead of believing that they are just lazy. I commend them for actually walking rather than just sitting in front of the television set and eating.

Most obese people have a hard time doing the normal things healthy people do such as walking or climbing stairs. Imagine if your bones and joints were overloaded with more weight than they are supposed to handle. Maybe if you step back and think about it logically instead of just spouting off at the mouth you would have come to the same conclusion and wouldn't have had to waste a question on this.

Carrying around all that extra weight puts a strain on everything--your organs, your back, your knees, etc. It's not as easy for overweight people to take stairs as it is for average or thin people.

Why do people who are an average weight take the elevator up one flight instead of taking the stairs?

Why do you care? Is this inconveniencing you? Are there handicapped people waiting for the obese people to vacate the ramps?

If it's very obese people they truly are handicapped. Actually, I have a 'friend' (I hesitate to call her that these days...but for reasons totally unrelated to her weight) who has great difficulty with stairs due to her weight.

If your knees hurt constantly, you can't lift 300 pounds 6 inches and your heart starts pounding when you try, then you are handicapped and should use the ramp. And who are you to judge who should be on the ramp - do you want to use it for skateboarding?

Stairs are too hard on their joints - ankles, knees and hips! They're doing good to walk up a ramp!
