I want to ask my doctor if he's gay. I know it's none of my business but sometimes he sounds so camp. I can't help it because sometimes he talks manly but sometimes his mannerisms are feminine. He is quite attractive and I just have to know if he is in fact gay. What is a polite way to ask him? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

There is no polite way to do that, if he wants you to know then he would tell you. You may think he's attractive but he wouldn't ever date a patient anyway so just forget it.

First of all, Him being ur doctor gives u a hint that u shouldn't know. U are suppose to have a trusting relationship with him not a friendship. None of ur business at all and u know it. So don't ask him. I am sure u want to go out with him and will be a big disappointment for u if he indeed is gay. I f he finds u attractive and is not married, but he hasn't ask u out, could mean that u r not of his interest (cuz he sees u as a patient) or cuz he is gay. I won't give u any suggestions. Look somewhere else.

I would tend to agree with the general consensus here. It's NONE of your business. As long as he's GOOD at being a Doctor, then his private life is just that, private. Do YOU want someone that you work for coming up to ask you if you're wearing black lacy thongs? I would think NOT. Well that's pretty close to what you want to ask him.

A really good mate of mine, aged 42, is sometimes asked 'Are you gay?' because he is unmarried and lives with his mother and younger brother. Actually, he supports them. He has had a series of relationships with females, all intense, all unsuccessful. He has one at the moment with a woman 3000 miles away. When people ask him if he's gay, he asks them what their motive is for asking. Why do they ask? Why do you ask? Why does ANYONE want to know exactly what someone else's sexual proclivities are? I think it is just disgusting prurience. So, sorry, it's not a question of whether there is a polite way, the answer is, don't ask at all. You do NOT have to know if 'he is in fact gay'. Mind your own business and get on with your life.

There really is no polite way to ask that.. Sometimes there are people that just seem that way.. Quite often, they are not "gay" at all. I would leave the person alone. After al, you do not want to piss off your doctor.

There's no polite way to do it - what business is it of yours anyway? This is not the sort of relationship you should be having with your GP - I'm sure there's some sort of ethics code which prohibits personal discussions like that between a doctor and patient. How would you like it if he assumed you were a lesbian?

Look at it like this: there is an imaginary line between a professional and the client/patient. This line is not to be tampered with. They would be in very hot water if they crossed the line, and you might need to find another doctor. Most doctors keep a healthy professional distance between them and their patients. There is a good reason for this. Don't cross that line yourself.

I am sorry but I have to be a little impolite in order to answer your question truthfully.
It would be very rude to ask your Doctor a highly personal question like that and about such a private matter.
It really is none of your darned business!

1.Simply ask him if he's involved with anyone--that lets you know if he's available.
2. If the answer is no ask him if he would like to go on a date with you.
3. If the answer is yes, he might be straight, but you can never be too sure, so do some testing of your own. If the answer is no, have him be honest with you as to why.
Good luck.

My gay male friends advise that you should ask him whether he likes the following - The Wizard of Oz, Liza Minelli - and also ask his opinion on interior design - gay men are brilliantly tasteful interior designers. If you get an enthusiastic response to all of the above then he is gay. Alternatively ask a gay male friend to take just one look at him, they can always tell!
