The main downfall of packaged soup is the amount of sodium they use. Most of the other stuff contains dehydrated foods such as vegetables and chicken. There are some preservatives added and something that keeps it from clumping, but they also add vitamins and minerals. My vote goes to homemade, but I've also added some of the packaged to my homemade to enhance the flavor.

No way those package soups taste awful, take your time make a nice pot of soup and freeze small portions for when u need it but leave the potatoes out they don't freeze well.
