going there in july was it good choice for famiy with 17&18 year olds. What is there to do there? Is the beach nice?

cross Malibu Park Castle off the list...they have been closed for several years.

Besides many great restaurants, here are some things that the teenagers may enjoy besides the wonderful beach:
1. Redondo Beach Pier
2. Malibu Castle Park
3.Dive n' Surf
4.Redondo Sportfishing--Whale Watching

My wife & I lived there for several years in the early 80's and loved it. Great area, lots of great local places to eat...great beaches...not to far to any of the big tourist trap places (Disneyworld, Knott's Berry Farm, Queen Mary, Universal, etc.)
I'm sure there's been a lot of changes since we left there, but you still picked a great place to visit.
