i've googled it and cant find anything. found some download sites for dell sound drivers, but not the E510, so im stumped?
please help, best answer will get a best answer.

I think if you go to Dell''s suport section of their website and enter your service tag#, it will bring up a list of everything your system came with.
Ok, I see what you mean, your machine isn't listed, the closest one is the E520. However, searching on "Dimension E510 sound" yields this link, among others:

Did you try going to Dells web site and looking for you model and selecting downloads? Is your sound card integrated or a PCI card? If integrated you will need a Sigmatel driver otherwise download the driver for Soundblaster.

Go to the Dell website and enter your service tag number and a list of down-loadable drivers custom tailored for your machine will appear !!

The best thing for you to do is contact Dell and find out what kind of sound card is in your comp. This may be on sone documents you got with it, or it might be available on the Dell website.

go to dell.com and then to support then enter the service tag and click drivers and it will show all the drivers 4 ur computer.
