Its a habit you have to establish, so just do it. Do it every day for a few days and then you will be wanting to do it. To keep focused, do a constant count, get into a rhythm, integrate your count, whatever exercise you are doing, and your breathing, it is very satisfying, almost like yoga. But you do need to discipline yourself the first few days to establish the habit.

MUSIC! It doesn't sound like it would work, but damn it helped me today. I just worked out for the first time in ages, and I just kept my mp3 in my ears. Skip the slow songs, even if you like it. Whenever a new fast Queen song would come on, I'd make the treadmill go faster, or ride the bike machine harder. I wouldn't be able to do it without music. And make sure you don't listen to the same thing all the time. Time literally flew, because I was so caught up in the music, and I started thinking other things.
Also, think of someone or something you REALLY hate. There is this boy who goes to my school, and he recently moved into my apartment complex. I just thought of him, standing behind me, making fun of me, and damn that motivated me too. I also thought of other people who worked out every day and dropped tons of weight. You need to learn what personally motivates you. I also found it enjoyable to have time to myself to clear my mind, do something healthy for me mentally and physically. I think working in a gym is great, because everyone is doing the same thing.

I am having the same trouble. I am going to a military school in Augest and I need to work out. I just can';t get myself to. The TV helps a bit, the FITTV channel, they have workout shows, and while its not the workout I need, it might suit you. And they do do a lot of motivation.

That funny thing is, I joined up with a workout group and we were all in the same place physically, so we supported each other. It was really motivating to have people encourage you.
The older method was to workout my frustrations.

Think about how good you will feel when you look in the mirror after working out and realizing the sweat on the brow will help you achieve your fitness goal in the long run.

Find a picture in a magazine of how you want your body to look... then cut your head out of a photograph and tape it to the body... look at it daily!
