Because we keep making babies, and there are still souls be sent down to Earth. It's pretty simple. Men & Women make babies, souls will continue to fill those babies until there are no more souls.
You should watch the 7 Seals (or was it the 7th Sign) with Demi Moore, it's interesting and addressing this. It's only a movie, but it's lossly based on a biblical prophecy about this very subject.

The world isn't overpopulated yet. It's not even close.
If you take all the people in the world and put them in the state of Texas, everyone would have an acre of land and there would still be some of Texas left. That leaves us the rest of the world to gro food.
So where is the overpopulation other than in large cities?

The earth is not even near close to being overpopulated. The issue is we all tend to congregate together which makes cities overcrowded. I live in the rocky mountain states, and the amount of open land out here would amaze you ... but there isn't a Starbucks or McDonald's right next door.

God knows the earth's capacity and purposes. He also has spirit children worthy of the gift of earth life. As the Perfect Father, he will not deny such a good gift to our spirit brothers and sisters who have not yet been born.
Father will still give out wisely to His spirit children bodies on this earth so they will each have a chance to learn and grow within an imperfect body so they can understand aspects of mortal life. As to when Father is out of children to send down here, only He and His Son Jesus Christ surely knows. We can ask them when they come back to visit, but we have to be worthy enough to stand in their purifying presence.
So from what I gather, the earth is not yet "overpopulated" according to God's design. He has given the task to man to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. He has not yet given a commandment, either by His direct words, or by sending His Son back who has the Divine Investiture of Authority, or via a living prophet with similar authority, to stop multiplying and replenishing the earth. Aspects of the law of Moses have been fulfilled with the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, but other things, such as the Ten Commandments, in some form still have validity. But this commandment of being fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth has not been altered, even at the time of the creation of the law of Moses.
So when it comes to knowing what is best, God has those answers. We must remember that our own feeble minds do not have the tools needed to do the things that God can easily do. But with the faith like a child, we can understand Him and love Him as we reach towards Him.
Sincerely,
Alvin R.

God puts his Life Force into babies, man is a living soul. God commanded Adam and Eve to "fill the earth and subdue it".

Good job being a Malthusian! Even though Malthus was somewhat wrong about the armageddon resulting from overpopulation so far...
It will end soon though. World pop. is estimated to reach 8 billion in about 13 more years, but after that it's all downhill.

Clones also are said to have souls, but that doesn't stop the demand for creating clones. Wouldn't that contribute to overpopulation? Not to mention a whole host of other dilemmas.

Amazing how God is suppose to take the blame for all the things mankind does, rather than man taking responsiblity for himself. Education ussually helps the population explosion, and why is it that the poor seem to be the ones having all the babies. The rich people seem to always have one or two children and try to keep it all for themselves. While the churches use starving children in foreign lands to beg for money, I always wonder how that money is not welfare for the parents not the children. Also I wonder how much actually gets to where it is intended to go rather than churches or foeign govenments.

You're right, Barney. If we just had a bunch of soul-less automaton children roaming the streets, the world would be a much better and much more fun place to live.
If they didn't have souls, does that mean we could have baby culls? And we could serve baby in fine restaurants.
Your show might go off the air, though. Might want to reconsider your proposal.

In America everyone is irresponsible, God did not come down to earth and told every irresponsible person "yeah go have meanless sex and i will grant souls."
With Mexicans they know that having kids will help them stay in American and the real Americans can pick up the tab for their many, many kids. There is a choice every time you think you might have unprotected sex and as for immigrants who are over populating this nation you need to go fight for your rights where you have rights.
