Hey, I'm living overseas right now and there are these really ridiculous things which I'm forgetting so help out thanks;-)

1.you know those things like "cover up your belly or wind will go into your belly and you'll get a stomach ache" and "don't upturn your eyeballs coz they will get stuck there" etc. What are they called again? Is it old wife's tales???

2. Like say if you dont take the high way, and you must go through cities and cities or whatever to get to where you want, what do you call it?You take the.......????

3. there's this movie where this man goes to this world where everything is giant sized and then he goes to this place where everything was miniature sized, and then at the end, he had to go to court of whatever, and then nobody believed anything he said etc....(ok its a really old movie so....sorry;-))))anyway, do any of you know the name of this movie??

This might vary from area to area. My answers are valid for someone from the Western US.

1. The first ones are called old wive's tales, or superstitions.

2. The second one, where you drive on regular streets, rather than on a freeway, is called driving on surface streets.

3. I am not positive about the third one, but it sounds like a film version of "Gulliver's Travels." He visits a lot of weird places, including a place where things are very large, and another where things are very small. He is also put on trial in one of the first places he visits.

2. Taking the scenic route is what we usually call it
3. Gulliver's Travels is the movie I think you are thinking of - although I have never seen it but read parts of the book
