I am not a immigrant, I was BORN here in United States of America so that makes me AMERICAN. If I was born in Russia and applied to live here in the United States I would be a legal Immigrant. If I was born in Mexico and snuck across the border illegally than I am an illegal immigrant. My question is why do the pro illegals use the argument of "we are all immigrants"? My ancestors were, but they were legal why can't they see there is a difference?

It is a SPECIOUS argument designed to confuse stupid people and stimulate emotions.
When we get emotional about any issue, we let emotions over-ride logic.
Logic uses thought, experience and wisdom.
Emotion uses chemical responses to force decisions based on FEELINGS.
They SEE the difference. They just hope you fall for their devious deception and are too stupid to do what makes good sense.
They KNOW they are WRONG but have objectives that are selfish and will stoup to ANY low point to win an undeserved advantage.

Well they are saying that at one time you came from a family of immigrants and should somehow feel their pain of what they are doing . I kind of weird out on the question too, I mean immigration can go back long way . I know on both sides of my family , we have been here long before the Industrial immigration of the 20th century so i definitely feel American . If you are a legal citizen and you are willing to put your past behind you and be an American citizen than one would be as American as any of us but you are still an immigrant. If you want to count someone coming over from England way back in the beginning of this country as being an immigrant as well then I guess that is a good enough argument. But making it out like all of us are fresh off of the boat from a different Nation is wrong . A lot of us have been here for a very long time and feel like this is our only home and will always be that way and can only be called an American citizen . I know this may not make sense, sorry but i do agree with what you say .

Actually from what I have read, it appears that a good portion of the American population might have ancestors who were technically illegal aliens. During the 19th Century, there was a massive illegal immigration problem through Canada. Hundreds of thousands of people would arrive in Canada from Europe and literally walk into the United States. These were the days when there was no border security to speak of except a few Army patrols.

Saying we are all immigrants says to me that we should feel their (illegals) pain in making the sacrifice to state anew in another country. Kinda pulls at the heart strings - not mine!!
Immigrants and illegal immigrants are two separate things. If you choose to come to another country you should do so legally and work legally to contribute to that society. Just coming into the country does not give you the rights of that country. If you want to be afforded the rights of a country than you legally need to enter. IMO legal immigrants are affected the most detrimentally by illegal immigrants.

Because most of the Pro-Illegal Immigrants would rather see to it that our Senators and Congressman sell out to the greedy Corporations and help to eliminate the "Middle Class" No dictatorship can survive unless you eliminate the middly class people. Whether you want to believe it or not, we are living in a dictatorship right now.

Illegal is an incorrect term. In our system of law, only what has been explicitly forbidden by law is illegal, everything else is perfectly legal.
There is no law that explicitly forbids entry into the United States, there are a myriad of laws that REGULATE the entry into this country, so the correct way to refer to people that failed to follow established legal procedure for entry is UNDOCUMENTED, since in order for somebody to become 'illegal' there would have to be a law that they have actively broken. That is not the case, by being in the US without having followed the proper legal procedure for entry they are UNDOCUMENTED not illegal.
If somebody was born in Mexico he too is an American that does not give him the right to work in the US.
Now, "My ancestors were, but they were legal why can't they see there is a difference?" Incorrect. This land was populated by independent native nations, those nations were all obliterated by a superior invading force of Europeans, there was nothing 'legal' about it, it was a matter of sheer strength. Your ancestors too were 'illegal' at the time.
Hope that helps.

They feel that once you are here it should not be questioned. Just getting here gives them the right of citizenship to our country.
