You should start getting mail soon. It might be a couple more weeks before he can use the phone. Believe me, the first two weeks they are kept busy from 4am to about 11pm.

Mail should be coming soon. While I was in Navy basic, we only had sundays to write letters. Mine went from Chicago to Nevada, and that took about 4 days. Calls..... As others have said, are earned. There is no guarantee that you will hear his voice for the 9 or so weeks he will be in basic (and thats the fastest he can get through basic. If he screws up to bad then he will be there longer) When he gets out of basic and into school you will hear from him more often. Keep your chin up, hun. He is thinking about you right now.

When it's his turn to use the phone i guess i would think...i don't actually know this but probably they go by alphabetical order or something like that and just be near the phone next sunday and maybe saturday too because he might be off-schedule a little and you wouldn't want to miss the call.

be prepared to not get ANY phone calls. phone calls must be earned, and if he can only make one, he may choose to call his family instead of you. I got 2, in the last week if Boot Camp, and thenonly because he was off base on a Community Relations gig(he played in the Recruit Band)

If navey bootcamp is like army.... he won't be able to make calls until the last 2 or 3 weeks of it... Army is 9 weeks long (at least it was for me, not sure if it's changed).

it will be a couple of weeks, hang in there. in processing takes a while and then after processing they dont want them using the phone but like 1 time a week. best bet is if u have access to his money then buy you and him a joint cell contract and mail him the phone. thats what i did while mine was in bc. Good Luck.

Soon. You could always call his mom for an address right?
Luckily my hubby (then bf) called me and not his family....hahahaha. If you knew his family, you'd understand why.
______________________________________________
Keep writing him. He's exhausted, the lines for the phones are very long. Don't get discouraged! Don't give him crap about calling or not calling....getting into a tiff about that when he does call could be very bad for him...and I know you don't want to do that.
Be patient honey! Tell him I said thanks for joining - my hubby is Army....
