Why is it Whenever an American says "We should Control our borders" They're branded a Racist?
I have heard to many people say "It is because people in America are un-willing to take those job. I say "Yes, We're unwilling to take those jobs because we can't afford to feed a family and provide a house for what those people that break the law to get into our country can." What people dont understand is that people that break into our country work for very little and live hundreds of people to onew house I want my own House I am an American. I am not planning on when I make enough money in America to run back home and live like a King or queen. Come on Wake up I am not a racist I Believe that there is a right and a wrong way to do things lets start making people follow the rules. People say "But we are a Country of immigrants. I say "Yes, We are a country of immigrants and many millions of those immigrants followed what rules were in place when they came to America now we Have a now former President of saying to America " You must open your borders to my people."

I have done research into what some other countries do about illegal immigration. For example Mexico itself is very harsh with their border control if an illegal is found in Mexico women and some children are raped, tortured, and murdered in cold blood. Those Illegals going to Mexico are leaving their homes in Nicaraga and Honduras but The Government won't allow others find out about Mexico's treament of illegals

There is so much great feed back. I think that we in America need to fire all the members of both political parties and we need to create a new political Party in America. A new one that is truly for the people of America. Not just for the wealthy business class that both parties have been following for 100 years.

I have found that many Americans are fed up with our politicians in ability and lack of wanting to do anything about this. So many Americans are turning the only way they can to find work and leaving America they love their home but with un employment on the rise and PC on the rise they have no choice but to leave their home an estimated 3000 Americans now have migrated to Canada and countless others have migrated to other Countries.

Some have forgotten a sad time in our history. There was a case of an Illegal immigrant that repeatedly crossed from Mexico to America numerous times each time he crossed the border by train and each time he would find a house near the railroad tracks and rape and murder the people living in their homes it took many years to catch this criminal that murdered people all the way from Texas to Illinois

I agree with you totally! Many of my friends believe that Americans are racist towards Mexicans. It is not that we are racist it is just that people who come here illegally for a "better life" are making their lives much worst. What are we suppose to do as Americans, let anyone who can sneak over here stay so they won't call us racist? No! Just think about it as the number of illegal immigrants increase the more our people that are citizens suffer. I'm all for people to come here to America for a "better life" if they do it the right way.

I think most people believe that **something** needs to be done about illegal immigrants.
However, more and more I am seeing people using some rather disturbing tactics to get their point across.
When you try to convince someone that the Mexicans "need to go" by telling America that Mexicans commit all sorts of crimes including murder and rape, then you are engendering a culture of hatred that is based upon an individuals race and background.
Yes, I agree that people who cross the border are "committing a crime" but most, and "most" meaning an overwhelming majority, work hard to put food on the table for their families. Of course there are some "real" criminals there as there are in any large group of people. But we have to deal with that no matter what the ethnic makeup is of a society.
When you start spreading fear and denigrating an entire culture, it starts sounding a little scary. Its just to easy for me to hear the word "jew" or "black" in place of "immigrant". And lets be completely honest. Look around the board and you'll find some (not all or even most, but some) who seem to take a gleeful bent on the prospect of getting "rid of" the Mexicans.
On another note that could be continued in another post, if we do not handle the Mexican situation correctly, we could end up with a country so poor and without hope to our south that...yes, you guessed it...it could become a breeding ground for future terrorists. It behooves us greatly to take a lot of time and consider this situation carefully.
To wrap up, I do not think of your post as being "racist", but I have seen other's post that I do consider racist. The key here is to explain your position logically and thoroughly, not simply use hot-topic buzz words and sound bites like some of the Ann Coulter and Bill OReilly wannabes around here do. When you simply spout something like "get rid of them all", or put up questions like "Why do the traitorous libs want their families to be murdered by Mexcians?" its just a bit too scary for my sensibilities. And Ill call it like I see it.
EDIT: as to the "sad time in our history" that same situation is experienced in every large city with murderers of every age, race and background. To make generalizations about an entire country based upon a few, and in this case ONE individual is exactly the definition of prejudice.
To address the issue of "other countries do this or dont do that...well, we ARENT like other countries and thats just the way it is. We are a world leader and have different expectations held of us than other countries. That is part of what makes us great. Please dont compare us to other countries. I know you hate when the "left" uses the same arguement for health care reform dont you?

The reason people do that is because they have no other response. When something is a simple as saying "They are illegal, therefor the shouldn't be htere" they have no valid argument against that. So they say, "You are racist" it is what people do all the time. Everyone plays the race card because we are so whipped by political corectness that everyone is afraid to say anything wrong about someone of another race, even if it is true.
Where I work, someone came in for a job interview, a black girl, she was wearing a tank-top, cropped jeans and flip flops, so the district manager refused to interview her. He told her he wasn't going to interview her and sent her home. She then asked why, he said, "I don't like how you look", she then said with an attitude, "Why, becasue I am black?" He said, "No, because you aren't dressed appropriately for an interview." She then responded by saying, "Why does it matter how I am dressed, your just talking to me, you just don't like black people." Then she left. This is a perfect example of how people just always use the race card when they feel they, or someone they agree with is of a minority and in their opinion is treated unfairly.

We should be able to guard the borders without it being considered racism. I think if the US took serious measures to actually do this after whatever bill passes that it might be considered an insult to others at first, but over time, things will blow over and everyone will get used to it.
Besides illegal immigration, the US talks about protecting against terrorism. This should be another reason for it. The Canadian border will eventually be another controversy. Not so much because of illegal immigration, but because of terrorism. The US should know not to divert too much attention to one thing, the other one is neglected.

Other countries would not allow immigration like America ...I really do believe the Government is up to something by allowing it ..they do not want to seal borders or they would have done it back in 1986 with the first amnesty ..Government has billions of dollars to fund war but not protect our borders?? go figure

Difficult, you have to watch your language. Chicanos have to realize they will be the first to be replaced. Leftists have to realize they are doing the dirty work for large corporations which benefit most from Illegal immigration. Hospitals are shutting down because of E-coli diseases spread by unsanitary conditions in the field. The President is in a desperate struggle to compete with China's emerging economy and dominance.
Good luck!

Scott the reason why is because they never argue with numbers or facts supporting what they say, just emotion. They are angry and in denial that when the numbers are shown, we are screwed. I have posted the information below many times and they never counter with facts, just emotions.
According to a special report by The Heritage Foundation, the immigration bill will rack up $2.4 trillion in total net governmental costs of all amnesty recipients during their expected 18 years in retirement. Because the majority of immigrants are high school dropouts, it is unlikely they can compensate for the governmental benefits provided them. In fact, immigrant households headed by those without high school diplomas, receive more than three dollars in benefits for every dollar paid in taxes.
Broken down, the immigration bill will cost legal, taxpaying Americans an average of $30,160 per immigrant family (headed by those without high school diplomas) to house, health, feed, educate, protect, and transport. There are at least 9.3 million adults that benefit from the bill. Bill sponsors and supporters refuse to label it “amnesty,” but those at the press conference argued that’s exactly what it is.
In addition to the immediate benefits received by those illegal immigrants who crossed the border any time prior to January 2007, they can also earn eligibility to welfare, social security and Medicare after 10 years. These programs risk funding losses already, so piling millions more onto the feeding tube only raises taxes and deprives legal citizens their due.
Let's see how many thumbs down I get, lol.

I don't usually brand them racists until they reveal themselves as such. I do however think that their anger is misdirected.
Maybe we are too lax at the border. But to me the fault of that lies with the business community in our own country, so I usually don't bother to listen to the rant.
If American business was actually creating real products and wealth, there's be enough jobs that Americans wouldn't feel threatened.

Any time someone has enough spine to stand up for something, they will be branded by liberals. In this case, because we want America to be for Americans, we are now racist. I'm not concerned about what the liberals think, they are so open minded their minds fell out.

Real racism is directed towards whites. Example: Two people interveiw for the same job and they have the same qualifcations. One is white and the other is non-white. Who does the company hire? They hire the non-white because they wan the company to be diverse and are scared of being called racist. So this fear of being seen as racist (or called racist for that matter) creates racism toward white folks. I know this because it happened to me and the company pretty much told me this point blank.
