The first part I remember took place outside, I stepped over a dead frog and walked over to the pond in my back yard. I saw a small turtle, I tried to catch it but it went into the water, when it came out on the other side of the pond it was enormous. Thats when I realized it wasnt a turtle at all but a much larger animal the someone had dressed up to look like a turtle. My mother and I took the costume off of it and it was a tiger. the other parts of the dream I remember are really vague that is the part that was most vivid. Any ideas what it means?

Wow.

I think it means you are hiding behind a facade (the little turtle in disguise) instead of confronting the things that are bothering you.

You may be hiding from something or someone in your waking life. It is time to face reality and stop hiding behind a facade.

You will not die (like the frog) but you will not make great leaps forward (as the frog might have had he lived) but you are capable of slow, steady progress. Pace yourself as you work towards your goal. Do not set yourself up for failure.

Do not hide so much from the realities of life in the meantime.

This dream sounds like it is in reference to somebody you know. The pond can represent trials and adversity. The small turtle can represent someone you saw as maybe slow and weak and defenseless. However, when the turtle went into the pond, he went through the trials and adversities and grew because of them. That's why when he comes out on the other side, he is bigger and stronger and a has character which was not seen before was revealed in the tiger. The removing of the costume represents the shedding away of the old life style and entering into a new one. Water turtles usually hang around water, but once the pond stage was conquer, now it it time to move on to a new stage. The Tiger not only can live by water, but forest as well.
