When I getmarried, I am getting my grandmothers huge $45k ring. It is the most spectacular ring I've ever seen. I am also getting an engagement/ wedding ring to wear on my left hand. Can I wear my grandmothers on my right hand? Do I not wear it? Or should I just wear it on the left hand? I would be the second generation of the ring. No traditions yet :)

The ring is over 5 cts.. I just dont want people confusing it for my wedding ring.. or competing with my ring.

Wear it through your nose if you want to.

yes, wear it on your right hand (at least on special occasions, so it doesn't get lost or stolen). As long as your engagement ring and wedding band are on your left hand, it's fine. Right hand rings are in right now, especially for single girls so they don't get jealous of their married friends with huge rocks on their fingers. I actually wear one myself (it's fake, though, but only a jeweller could tell that). But i think that would be a really nice tribute to your Grandmother. And if you ever have a daughter, maybe someday, you could pass the ring on to her on her Wedding day and start a tradition.

That's really neat that you're getting such a beautiful ring, but wouldn't it make your fiance feel bad? Wear your wedding ring on your left hand, unless if your grandmothers ring is your wedding band.

I wear my grandmothers ring on my left hand on my middle finger! I think it looks so much better next to my set than all alone on my right hand...But I think you should do what ever makes you happy!

I wouldn't wear it except for very formal/very dressy occasions. First of all, you'd die if something happened to it, whether damage or loss or theft.

If you do wear it, wear it on your right hand. Or consider having the ring changed by a jeweler so that it becomes a pendant or a brooch.

I would wear it on your right. That is what I did when I got married and my grandma gave me her grandmother's ring. Don't put it on the right because it isn't your wedding ring right?

Yes, wear it on your right hand............where else would you wear it? Your left hand is for your wedding and engagement rings.

Well, does your fiance mind? I don't really see why he would, but if the ring is that extravagant it might dwarf the one he got you and look kind of silly. Other than that, I don't see why not. It's a family heirloom, wear it.

I'm not wearing anything on an every day basis that cost as much as a Cadillac Escalade. ;)

You can wear it anywhere you want to, and make every other girl jealous -- like I am :)

Congrats on the marriage :)
