For me, yes. It's kind of like what the world calls an aperitif, only it's beer and not a schnapps or liqueur.

i might be wrong on this but appetizers are edible, not drinks, it goes with appitzers

it whets your appetite, but because of the intoxicating properties you probably won't be able to appreciate the taste of the food you drink after as fully.
