Certainly, if you believe in reincarnaton, being born gay would make sense.
Perhaps a lesbian was a guy in her previous lives, and she is unable to let go of her prior sexual identity. Perhaps as a man he mistreated women in a past life, so now Karma has caught up with him by his being born a woman.

Of course it does, being born anything is in relation to your past lives and karma IMO. It may be in a past life the person was intolerant and hateful towards a certain group of people and in this life being gay is showing them what it is like to be on the other end of that. My hope is that the majority of the christians today come back in any of the following categories...
gay, as women, black, physically or mentally challenged, poor, of a different belief system that is regularly persecuted by christians...
only then we their souls gain understanding and empathy, begin to evolve and come closer to God. IMHO

I think just being born has a relation to past lives, we either must return because of karma, or we choose to return for further life experience.....being gay, or being female or being male or whatever, all are valid life experiences.

Honestly i am open to the idea of past lives but I absolutely do not believe that anyone can be BORN gay. Gay is a choice of mind that you yourself choose due to your stimulus around you. ( for simpler words the way you were raised usually will influence what sexuality you choose.) For example males who mothers hate them but there fathers love them may find it easier to choose homosexuality. As for karma i believe that it may factor in certain things in life. I'm still open to it.

Well, I don't believe in past lives or karma, so no. I think it's biologically based and that's being proven out more in studies every year.
I don't think its a matter of choice, since, as an experiement, I am "choosing" to be gay for a week or two. So far, no matter how much I try, I can't get worked up over my own gender.

I believe it has a relation to past lives only in the fact that those souls chose to be gay in this lifetime before they came here.

I do not believe in this theory.. I believe it is an influence in the life of the indivdual. I knew a gay man who at one time was happily married. when she left him it destroyed him to the point that another gay man seduced him. and that is how he switched. I think that outside influences are always to blame for a gay life. that is why I do not hate them. the sin is bad but those who are gay are woefully misled.primarily because of their potential as servants of GOD. have you ever noticed how bright gay people are, and talented? targets to keep them away form GOD and serving HIM.

No, I don't: because I don't believe in past lives (or afterlife for that matter.) and I don't believe in karma.
To top it off, I don't feel that being gay or lesbian should be viewed as a punishment or something to overcome.

actually you are not born gay, as you grow you may develope feelings for the same sex, then it becomes your choice as to act on these feelings or not. Always knowing the truth will help you to make the right decisions.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
