I will be traveling from New York to London on British Airways in the next three week. I would like to know about there in flight service, what type of meals and beverages do they serve. Since it will be a 6-7 hour flight I was wondering if I should buy extra food from the airport. Your comments and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Virgin and British Airways are not like domestic airlines. They actually feed you and come around with drinks and such on a fairly regular basis. Sure the food is not a sumptuous meal but it is OK and it passes the time.

As another said eat before you go...... and then whatever you get is more of a snack. If you are taking one of the usual evening flights they will do snacks and then dinner and the cabin gets dark..... the beverage cart stops coming by. But if you get into watching movies or whatnot you can just get up and wander to the back of the plane. Ask for a coke, coffee (or a beer) and they will gladly just give it to you. The flight attendants are used to people traveling a lot and being on different sleep schedules.

It is always good though to pack a snack or two. I travel all of the time. For me I always keep a bag of M&Ms and some Slim Jims in my laptop bag. I don't eat these at home but sometimes you get the urge to munch on something.

If your flight leaves late in the afternoon or early evening, either from Kennedy or Newark:

Normally, you would be serve dinner shortly after takeoff.
Also, before landing in London, breakfast would be serve.

If your flight is not the same as described above, meals would be served as scheduled.

You do not need to take extra food if you do not mind airline food. Soda, tea, coffee or water is served.

I went on a flight boston to London on british air and we left at around 6 pm usa time and they fed us like 3 times, dinner, then a snack, then again breakfast. all free. along with beverages. It was a pretty enjoyable flight, plus they have tv's so u can watch movies.

well if you go to the British airways web site or call them they can tell you what movie u will watch and what food u will get. If you think u will be hungry bring snacks but they may or may not let u bring them on the plane. Try eating just before u go and u won't be hungry. This is a no brainer. Thanks.
