since you are only TEN, you really have so much to learn. Most of the time, when your are not allowed to do things, it is because (no matter what your physical size is) you have a right to be protected from people and things that could hurt you. Without knowing it you could get into trouble with people that have bad ideas and are able to influence you into doing the wrong things. You are a good person, but there are other people out there that are NOT.

You're too little to go on this? Are we talking rides at an amusement park? If so, that's a simple matter of physics, and it's that you are too short to be properly restrained by the harnesses, and has nothing to do with your age. If you were a little person, you might be 30 and still too short for those rides.

As for the "potty," part, our society has no polite common word for using the restroom. (Restroom? Do you rest in there? Bathroom? I'm not going to shower.) Even the word "toilet," comes from the word that means primping, combing hair, etc.

I suggest you follow the ancient tradition of acting more not. If they treat you as a child, act as mature as you can. When they ask, "Do you want to go potty?" reply "Would you excuse me please? I have to go powder my nose." This is a very formal, adult, sophisticated metaphor, and you will, by acting in an exaggeratedly formal way, draw attention to their use of toddler-talk.

You could also pull whomever says it aside and say, "You know, I am twelve, almost a teenager. And I think I am old enough to use words like 'restroom.' I find 'potty' pedantic." "Pedantic" -- the first part rhymes with "head" --means treating someone like a child. Again, your use of adult vocabulary shows you as an adult-to-be, not a child.

If you are dealing with doggy people, you may be stuck. My stepmother frequently asks ME if I want to go potty, and I am 40. She does it because she talks that way to her dogs. Sometimes she excuses herself from the table, saying that she "needs to go out."

In general, take a deep breath and count to ten and learn to live with morons. The world is full of them. Illegitimi non carborundum. "Don't let the bas**rds get you down."
