I would guess that it would cost close to 300-350 but it may be cheaper depends on how big your wanted to get it. I would call around to different tattoo shops and get there prices and go with the most reasonable one. My most expensive tattoo was 350 and that is a half sleeve on my arm so I wouldn't think it would cost more than that.

Hard to tell because where you live may cost more than where I live. Also, I have found with my tattoos that cost cannot be a factor - if you are looking for a cheap tattoo, you will get a cheap tattoo. You cannot say if an artist or shop is charging too much because you don't know the skill of the person who is going to do your tattoo.
Best advice if you want this tattoo. Take the picture into REPUTABLE shops in your area and talk with the artists. They will tell you what their cost is and then you can decide if you want to go ahead.
I have seen crappy portraits that cost $100 and amazing ones that cost $1000. It all depends on the quality of the work and the skill of the artist.
Also remember, you do need to tip your artist - although I give 30% (I figure this person is going to do my tattoos, I want him to be well compensated), a tip of 10 - 15% is customary.
Do not get quotes on the phone - there is no way a quality shop will give you a quote without seeing the picture you want reproduced.

it really depends. you never said how big you want it either or if its got any colour as opposed to black and white. those kinda things make a difference where I'm from anyways. the shop I go to charges $65 an hour with a minimum charge of $40. the average I've paid for my tattoos is about $90. I would really just go down and ask at the various places. dont tell them the price you got at another shop and just see what prices they give you. chances are if they are all around the same price then you are getting an accurate price. it also depends where you live. I'm in Canada and I know that in Toronto the charge a fortune for a tattoo that you can get done for half the price somewhere else.

It's all really gonna come down to the shop and the artist. They all charge different prices for size, location, color, and sometimes if it's a really big piece, time.
My suggestion would be to go around to the different places (they'll usually ask you to come in if you call to get a better idea of what your asking for) and just compare the prices you get.
Just remember that less money doesn't always equal quality work, but at the same time that they're a business too, so they have those prices so they can earn a living as well!

It really depends on the tattoo parlour. Go around and ask a few different places. More importantly though find people with good tattoos and find out where they got them done. It's better paying a bit more than you should if you're getting a better tattoo.
I first got my tattoo priced at £80. It was a small butterfly, just an outline. I went elsewhere and got a butterfly about twice the size, designed in the parlour specially for me and in full colour. It was only £150. In the first parlour it would have been at least a couple hundred more.
Go by who does the best tats not who's the cheapest. You've got this design forever, best your totally happy with how it turns out :) Hope I helped a bit.

Tattoo artist generally charge a $100 an hour not including taxes and tip. A high detailed piece like a portrait is likely to take a bit of time so factor that in plus how big it is. I'd say about 200-300 dollars.

Depending on how large you want to get it and it also depends on the reputation of the parlor. You don't want to get it done by a person that will charge very little either. My husband is actually getting my face. They want a $50 with the photo that he wants at least 1 month in advance. They are charging about $400 but they are also very good. There is actually a 3 month waiting list. Good Luck!
