Why would you want to stay at an airport hotel anyway? The Marriott is not a bad airport hotel but the Westin Bonaventure is unique, in the city and you will recognize it as it has been used in a lot of movies. I would rather stay away from the airport if I had the choice.

Well the LA Airport Marriot has got better reviews overall than that particular Westin in downtown LA. LA downtown is not very desirable... but I suppose it's closer to the Dodger's stadium than from Marriot. If you must stay in LA downtown you should try this hotel: Omni Los Angeles at California Plaza- the area is nicer that Westin. Or try InterContinental Los Angeles in Century City... this one is in between Beverly Hills and West LA (Santa Monica etc) but the nightly rate isn't as expensive as the hotels in Beverly Hills.

Westins in general are just far better than Marriotts...
whichever is closest to the places you want to be visiting is the one you should choose

The Westin is terrific.

They're not economy hotels. Both are equal in amenities, but at the airport you're 20 miles out of town.
