The guy I've been seeing casually has started saying he really likes me and is falling for me. He only says it when he's had a drink - in fact that's normally to only time I see him. Are men more honest when they've had a drink or just talk more crap.

Its not necessarily the truth it's just less inhibitions. Not the same thing.

It's one of the oldest tricks in the book. What to know where somebody's head -- or heart -- is? Take 'em out, get 'em talkin' 'bout nothin' and ply them with drink. Then you can start angling in on what you really want to know. Alcohol affects the frontal lobes of the cortex, the seat of better judgement, where lives that little voice who normally tells a person when to stop talking or what is better not to say or do. Get that out of the way and you have a good chance of learning something about a person you might not have known otherwise. It doesn't work with everyone all the time, but the success rate is pretty high (pardon the pun) over all.

Although this is only a subjective point of view, i'd say both. Personally, i'm more willing to tell a (difficult) truth after a couple of drinks however i avoid doing it because the person i'm telling it to might think it's just because of the alcohol.
In any case, i suggest you speak to him when he didn't drink anything and ask him if he was kidding or not.

Actually, when men drink they are braver. Meaning, he is now brave enough to start lying to you about how much he likes you...because the other thing that drinking does is make you horny..and he wants to sleep with you. This isn't really a bad thing, I'm sure you're pretty hot and old dude was just trying to test the water. Take it any way you want.

It all depends - he is telling the truth or he thinks you will be easier when is he telling you that. I will not say the men is more honest when they have a drink to much but they will talk more easy with you

My ex was always drunk and still is as far as I know.
He was a liar!!! I once had a male drinking buddy and I can tell you that when he was drunk he used to say that he really liked me and so on.
Because he only told me when he was drunk, I had suspicions that he was just trying to get his leg over.
Turns out, I was right, most girls who I know in the local pubs etc know him, he tried the same thing with all of them. Lets just say he has a reputation for bull. and having spread STDs knowingly. So my advice is beware!!!! If he cant tell you when he is sober, its not worth bothering with.

Everyone, not just men become more truthful. In the sense of truthful being how the person really feels.
Alcohol helps get rid of inhibitions and what we try to keep covered up is what we tend to blurt out when we've had a few.

It completely depends on the individual. Some blokes turn into bullsh*tters and cannot help but lie about anything, many times. Others find it easier to open up and confess their sins/truth about anything. Get his number at least, and call him when he's sober.

It depends, usually the truth comes out when people are really drunk which is true because i know from experience, its happened many times to me. If they are just a lil tipsy then its harder to tell if they are saying the truth or not because it could be both.

Some people find it easier to say what they feel when they've had one too many and I think when they tell lies they are really obvious, stupid ones that you can see through straight away.

One drink normally doesn't affect most men.. try getting together with him at a different time or place... not at a bar or restaurant and talk to him about it
