would it hurt? that will be a subjective question, basically it wont, however, if you dont have your teeth cleaned every six months or as what your dentist advice then it might hurt a little.

in cleaning the teeth, what we dentist do, is remove the calcular deposits...imagine that youve eaten cheese, and those cheese hardens and they stayed on the crevice, in between your teeth and gums. If you could open your mouth big enough al look in front of the mirror, look for those hardened cheese/cement like material at the back of your lower teeth.

if you are seeing those, it about time to ring your dentist and make an appointment. If you see dark brown or black, this would mean that you need to proceed to your dentist ASAP.

now what hurt? what hurts is when those calcular deposits fall beneath the gums, as we remove them the tip of our instrument will come in contact with the root or near the root of your teeth thereby making it sensitive.

how can it not hurt or be sensitive? brush properly, floss and have your teeth cleaned by the dentist every months or more as needed...some needs to be cleaned even after 3 months as they easily formed calcular deposits, remember the hardedn cheese like material.

how long would the cleaning take place, normally its 15-20 minutes depending on the severity of the calcular deposits that needs to be removed.

If it is your first time to go to a dentist, expect that it will take a bit more of time as the dentist will inspect it first for any tooth decay or parts that needed to be fixed. The least time is 20minutes but I doubt it with you as this is your first time. It doesn't hurt but only give you some tickles from the brush the dentist will use. For sure the dentist will ask you first if you feel some toothaches or any part of the teeth that is hurting you, so s/he could apply anesthesia if needed. Depending on the dentist, some may ask you to come again after the first cleaning for check up routine. Dental check up is covered by health insurance, so you can pay less if you have that. To have a healthy teeth, have it inspected every 6 months after your first appearance.

I get my teeth cleaned regularly like your supposed to and I brush twice or sometimes 3 times a day where I can. I also floss. And the hygenist that does my teeth was far too rough with my teeth. According to the hygentist and my past dental experience getting my teeth cleaned, I have never bled from it. But the hygenist I've been having has been so rough with them that they bleed every time. But if someone else cleans them, my gums do not bleed and I have a good experience.

It does not hurt when you go to the dentist to get your teeth clean. They just use there tools to get all the things your tooth brush cannot get off your teeth. It usually takes 30-60 min.

I get my teeth cleaned every four months. It doesn't hurt at all. It takes about half an hour. Don't worry, cleaning is an easy job.

Not at all and if you're sensitive they can numb your gums with a gel. Seriously, it's nothing.
