See....nothing really, it's a small deserted island. If you like to stay at beaches your whole vacation, then go there.
Natural bridge is history.

Aruba is a very nice place to visit. It has great beaches and hotels and plenty of nice restaurants. It also has a few casinos in several of the hotels. There is not much to do in Aruba other than beach stuff. You can tour the island in half a day; you’ll see the lighthouse, a national park that’s kinda like wilderness, a cave with some petroglyph.
From one of the Aruba web sites:
"The 100-foot-long natural arch, which loomed 25 feet above sea level, was an awesome spectacle that existed for thousands of years, but disappeared in just one evening, early in September 2005. The same wave action, which carved out the limestone structure, was the cause of its unfortunate demise."
There is a tour that takes you in a jeep across some of the desert areas but I would skip this; your time would be better spent at the beach.
You really don't need a car in Aruba, there's not that much to drive to see. Baby Beach is kinda nice but don't feel disappointed if you don't get there. Its not that special. You can easily take a public bus to town from the beach areas. There are lots of water sports in Aruba including jet skis, snorkel and scuba, para-sailing and wind surfing and just lounging on the beaches. The casinos are nice, but small. Restaurants are rather expensive.

I agree with the person who says to rent the Jeep...I did this on my honeymoon and it was the best time I ever had in Aruba...the best part is that the island is so small you can see the whole thing in one day and not have to worry about getting lost...the natural bridge is still worth seeing even though it has fallen...there is still a gift shop there too...if you are adventurous go to the natural pool and go for a swim...it is close to the natural bridge and that part of the island is great to explore...another great place to go to is baby beach...have fun...

Rent a Jeep one day, and go for a drive across the north side of the island (all desert). The majority of the island is a desert. The tropical areas are man made. This was the highlight of my trip. Take your time and enjoy the ride. Stop a lot and take tons of photos. Just be careful when you drive over the coral, it will rip your tires to pieces.
I haven't heard that the natural bridge fell. It was still there when I visited 6 yrs ago. Oh well.
Snorkel, Snuba, or Scuba. Your choice. Not the best place for this but still lots of fun.
If you golf, they supposedly have a great golf course. I don't.
Other than that, just go sight seeing, hang out under the straw/stick umbrellas on the beach, and enjoy. The resort you stay at will have plenty of suggestions I'm sure.
Oh, be careful in picking a Taxi driver. Anybody with a car down there is a "Taxi driver." We chose one who I believe was on crack. Pretty scary ride.

I have been to Aruba 6 times
the most recently being for two weeks in Feb of '07
Yes, the Natural Bridge really did fall. Try going up to the California Light House. it is at the highest point of the island and you get a great view of Oranjestad, the Capital City. Also a great view of Caracas, Venesuela. The lighthouse has a great reastaurant too. Make sure to go into town and go see San Nicolas-the old oil town. the beachs on the Atlantic side are rough, but if u like the waves, check them out, otherwise stick to Palm and Eagle beaches on the Caribbean side.
Take a tour of the water purification plant there too. the water there is the best water that i have ever tasted!!!
Make sure to go to the restaurant in Oranjestad called "Que Pasa?"....it is a great restaurant with excellent service and native Aruban food.
also try Papiamento. so elegent and sophisticated, but it wont kill your walllet either...
Try to go 4 wheeling.....Make sure to wear sunblock and stick with ur tour guide!!! i have friends that came back super burnt up because they forgot the sunblock
any watersports are great......try to rent a catamaran or other boat to go snorkeling on
snorkeling is great at Baby Beach.....toward the atlantic side-right in San Nicolas the water is really calm and you get a great look (and maybe even touch) at the fish
any more Q's.......just let me know
I'm the Resident expert when it comes to this Island
remember....
Aruba .......One Happy Island!!!!!
