Are americans slobs ? dirty houses? Does this happen to you?

It's like, geez...you would think you were visiting the White House.

I think these people are being very inconsiderate. As to Americans being slobs, this is not the case with my little sister. You could eat off her kitchen floor and never run across one germ. We are Americans,Californians. I think there are probably slobs in every country, I wouldn't single us out. Where are you from? Are all the houses there neat as a pin all the time? just curious...

Slobs? and/or dirty houses? Do you really have to give them a weeks notice? Maybe they know you keep a tidy life style and would critique their living space? Maybe they live a busy life style and want to make sure they are home for your visit? Lots of maybes here.

That used to happen to me when I lived in Florida. All the Canadian relatives, thought just because they were in the State they should plunk at my house.
Most I did not know where even coming down...yes it has mixed emotions, you are glad to see them, but immediately have to change all your plans to accommodate them.
I am not a slob, just a little more considerate than some of the relatives.
When I go north, I book my accommodations so as not to inconvenience anyone...and my own comfort by staying at the Hotel or Motel, and can come and go as I please so far as visiting.......thanks

no, this does not happen to me, but my friends & I are the type that like to plan to get together & not just drop in on eachother
PS & we live in America & other than my son's toys in the living room my home is clean, Thanks
