No, I will not see it. Just like I didn't see The Passion or The Nativity Story. God didn't commission Hollywood to preach the gospel & Mel Gibson sure ain't qualified.

I thoroughly enjoyed Bruce Almighty and am looking forward to seeing Evan Almighty.
Following is what the US Catholic Bishop's Conference said about the movie:
Despite its lighthearted irreverence, director Tom Shadyac uses humor to explore such issues as free will, and offers a positive image of personal faith rare in Hollywood flicks.
And while the movie is not without moments of schmaltziness and sheer silliness, beneath its irreverent facade the film addresses faith issues with an unfeigned sincerity and seriousness. That's rare in an industry which, at best, treats expressions of faith as window dressing. Such topics as prayer, usually anathema, play a pivotal role in the narrative. Regrettably, this otherwise genuinely religious film is tarnished by some language and an implied sex scene which easily could have been eliminated without hampering the flow of the story.

I work at a church and I hear so many Christians say the same thing. The problem is they haven't seen the movie so they are just making an opinion based on a movie preview. Bruce Almighty was actually really good and didn't blasphme God. I am sure Even Almighty will be the same. So yeah I'm gonna see it, and so should you.

As a christian I see it as just the opposite of what you are saying. It is a very interesting way of trying to get people to relate to God or Noah in a modern day way. The example of answering prayers in Bruce almighty was very intriguing about why some prayers aren't always answered the way you want them to be. Also the issue of free will was handled very well with bruce almighty in him trying to get his girlfriend to love him but he couldn't force her to love him. IThat is a great modern day example of why there is free will in the world. Sure it might poke some fun but it does so much more to open the eyes of the world to God. I wouldn't take it so seriously and see it more a fictional story with truth laced in it.

I bet you didn't like dogma either.
Look every once in a while it is just fun to poke fun at yourself and your beliefs just to have a good time and cut the edge off.
and come on Morgan Freeman's god you can't beat that
In regards to seeing the movie I am still on the fence about it I know its going to be different from Bruce All Mighty and the trailers just have not made me say zOMG I have to see this movie so we will see

There is nothing Blasphemous in any movie save the Passion of the Christ. That was blasphemy by attempting to corrupt and misuse history and people religious beliefs.

I have no interest in seeing it, but not on any religious grounds. I don't want to see it simply because it looks like an incredibly stupid movie.
Bruce Almighty was kind of funny, though.
It seems like some people just LOOK for things to be offended by, and that's sad.

Evan Almighty is no more fictional than the story of Noah and Evan will probably make more sense.

People see it and take it as it is. Comedy. We can always go to Church or Bible study to get serious with the things we read in The BOOK.

i think it looks cute. assuming the language is clean in it, i'll take my kids to see it.
but considering the first one was not child friendly in my opinion, i will have to watch it myself first. well the 15 yr old can watch it, but the 12 & 9 yr olds will have to wait
