They're a fair pistol, their 1911(45acp) pistol is a great gun for the money too. The best ammo for your 85b is any of the 115gr. FMJ rounds, I've never had good luck shooting JHP's thru a Norinco pistol, their feed ramps aren't as polished as they should be.

Norincos are pretty good for the money.
As far as ammo....
I have a Kimber among others, and was having a few problems with feeding 185 Gr JHP's. I read a few forums and found that I wasn't the only one having the same feeding problem in my Kimber. So I bought a felt bob and some fine polishing compound at a local tool shop, and polished the throat and ramp of the gun to a nice mirrored finish.
It only takes a few seconds, a dremel, portable drill, or a drill press will also work. Afte that, you should be set.
You can take it to a gunsmith and have him/her do it for a nominal charge if you arent comfortable doing it but it really isn't hard, just be careful not to polish something you didn't want polished.
I did my wifes S&W Sigma, my Kimber and will do my taurus as soon as I get it back from Taurus!
They should eat just about anything you feed them after you polish the ramps and throats.

Everything they make is as good or better than the original military surplus item they copied.
Their Tokarev, 1911, PPK etc are as good as any other milsurp item you'll find.
Their guns are considered milsurp....they're designed to shoot milsurp ammo the best. Go to cheaperthandirt.com and pick up a case of 9mm FMJ ball. You won't be disappointed.

metallurgy in china is pretty poor, as is their quality control. I have seen seen the norinco firearms fail many times. Some with catastrophic results to the shooter. It's a buyer beware firearm.
