Like most reels my reel has a range of line and how much is gonna be on it. For my reel, the range is 4-8 lb line. Is it still Okay if i put on 10 lb line or will it screw something up.

10 lb test line should be fine with a reel that has a suggestion of 4 to 8 lbs. What's on the reel and also the rod are only suggestions. You could go over or under without doing any harm. Just not too much over and too much under the suggestions.

No ya' ain't goin' ta', "screw it up". One can go up in # test, but keep in mind that'll decrease the amount of yards she'll have on the spool. Sounds like ya' have a light outfit, soooo I don't think I'd wanta' exceed 10 # test, it can be done but it just ain't my cup of tea. Hey, ya' got a big one goin' for ya', most people don't even look or as far as that goes know where or what line specs are ;)!! "Fish On"...

Yes you can and the reel will still be at its potentials! The problems arise when you exceed the capacities of what the reel can handle like the drag washers(top drag) and spool capacity.

Don't worry about the 10lbs part it the diameter of the line what counts, most lines will be a low diameter all it will me mean is it will not hold as much line.

you can put whatever size line on your reel that you want.
You just wont get very much on there.

It sounds like you have an ultralite reel why would you want to put bigger line on it anyway?

Yes, but are you sure you need that heavy line? I only use that when the fish grow over 20lbs. I've even landed fish over 20lbs on 6lb test. FYI.

you can still put 10 pound on it you will just lose some yardage due to the thickness.

you are just better off using the lesser line because you will not get enough line on your spool for one,,,, two it will bird nest up on you repeatedly.
