I made some coffee in my percolater and it tastes like perfume so I dumped it out, cleaned the pot, AND the cup I was drinking from. I rinsed both well.
Well, I just took a sip from my 'new' coffee and it is worse than the last one and my throat is burning a little. Am I being poisoned or am I being paranoid?

Did you taste the water out of the tap? Do you have a different bag of coffee that you can try? Did you put sweetener or cream in the coffee? Is there anyone who would really want to hurt you?

Well, I doubt you're being poisoned. Usually the poisoner would use something you can't detect.
How about you look at the water you're using. Is it bottled, filtered or straight from the tap. Whatever it is pour a glass, smell and taste that. If it seems fine, you many have some bad coffee grounds.

If you have a dish washer and are using, scented detergent. That will do it. Not only does it leave a scent but a taste..

Other then that the only thing I can think of is that who ever put dishes away may have had something on their hands, that transferred over to the cup.

Run some vinegar through the coffee pot to clean it out.
Maybe that will help
