Hi,
I was wondering whether it is possible for us to capture the output (signals) of a CMOS sensor (like of a DigiCam) somehow and use it in our own way. For ex: If i wanted to make a motion detector, can i do something like i just mentioned?

You can get smaller CCDs and you could use it for a motion detector, but these parts require a LOT of external circuitry and you would have to do an enormous amount of processing on the incoming data to determine if there is motion.

There are much easier ways to determine motion - look for one of the sensors used in motion detecting light fixtures. They require minimal circuitry and will even tell you which direction the motion is.
