She is active & doesn't look sick.She had been spayed about 2 months back.

If she has been spayed, she cannot come in heat (have her period). Was she supposed to be spayed before you got her, or did you have it done, so you are absolutely certain she IS spayed?
If she is having discharge like that, and you know that she is spayed, a vet visit is most definitely in order asap.

You need to take her to the vet to get a certain answer female dogs do have a period but it's true that once you have spayed them it should go away so if you care for your dog and want to know what's wrong take her to the vet.

Female dogs do get a period but once they are spayed, they won't have them anymore. Is there a reddish color in her urine or does she have just the discharge? I have heard that when a dog has a urinary tract infection that they can have blood in their urine but I have never had a female spayed dog have a reddish discharge with the exception on one dog but she was a foster that the shelter spayed her while she was in heat.

Once spayed, she can't have her period. I would take her to the vet and see what's wrong. They might have messed her up when they spayed her. My dog, thankfully, lived through hers. We found out on the news later that they were quack vets and used coat hangers and all kinds of stuff. Horrible!

I didn't think dogs got periods if they were spayed I would call the vet to be certain.

unusual but possible even though she is spayed...my daughter's dog is spayed but still has the discharge even though she can't get pregnant (according to the vet)

I have a female cat that has been spayed since she was a kitten. No they don't have periods. I have never seen her bleed. Please see your vet. Terri/florida
